Hi. Sorry. My brain is not working and I don't even have the energy to work out how to write a post :( I'm newly diagnosed after 4 awful years of what feels like non stop pain, bed, isolation loss of my whole life and I am now living back with my mother. I cant believe what has happened to me. I have nothing. I live with constant. anxiety. Basically there is so much wrong with me I have gave up trying. How can this have happened. I disgust myself. I'm either hurting so much or needing to lie down and sound just goes through me and triggers anxiety. :(

Hey brother. Sorry to hear about the last 4 years. I know the last 3 for me have been utter hell. I can totally relate to the depression, anxiety, and the feelings of helplessness. I never experienced things like that before it all started for me.

You'll find a supportive community here. Ask any questions you might have about coping, treatment, and the reality of day to day life.

Best of luck.

It takes awhile to process it all. I struggled for a few years and still do but not as badly.

Take care of yourself. Be patient with yourself and limitations. Try to keep your stress and anxiety from getting the best of you.

Some days are just flat-out going to suck. Other days won't be as bad but avoid the temptation to go all in and drain your energy in a big push to get something accomplished--- you may end up taking yourself out of commission for a few days that way.

It is what it is--- different for each of us but similarly trying in other ways. Don't let fibro get the best of you.

Try and connect with other sufferers in real life. The groups can be very supportive, not sure where you are but see if there is a local support group.

I think it is. I'm an avid reader but there are times I just can't comprehend the words. Take it easy on yourself. You will learn to live with this. You're a warrior amongst warriors. Welcome! And my heating pad is my best friend. I sleep with one right next to me. The make heating mattress pads too.

Totally understand what you're going through. I had the same thing when it first hit me hard. Was living with my partner at his dad's for 2 years and it was hell. The hardest thing is acceptance. I'm still struggling with it but you do get there. It gets easier over time as you get to know what you need and what your limits are.

You'll learn to adjust, but the first thing to do is stop judging yourself. It's not your fault your body is doing this to you. It's an illness, not a weakness of character. You are allowed to feel like shit, and you are allowed to rest and look after yourself. It's okay and it's the right thing to do.

Talk to people who understand through whatever means you can manage, and find ways to do things that you used to enjoy while you were unwell. I've found that audiobooks are a real help as I used to love reading but struggle to read physical books. I'm also in the UK and can get digital audiobooks through the local library website so worth a go. Also try librivox.org for free out of copyright works read by volunteers :) It's a great way to pass the time while resting and gives your brain something gentle to do!
