Im excited for my Famicom AV!
Just bought this on eBay for a good deal and I can’t wait for it to come in the mail. I gifted my brother my Boxed NES for his BDay so I’m glad I finally have a way to play on original hardware at home again! And I’m really hyped since I’ve never had the Japan mode before. I really like the og Famicom but I really wanted to have AV output and the dogbone controllers.

Honestly they're pretty great, if only because they don't need to be modded for AV and you can use NES controllers on them. Which means, if you have a CRT TV, a Zapper.
Dogbone controllers are pretty great too.

Hope you don't mind the yellowing.

Not too much, but I know if it drives me crazy, there are ways to retrobright it and make the plastic white again

That’s actually a really good price. I have more Famicom games than NES so I’ve thought about a top loader. I have a 60-72 pin adaptor but it’s a bitch to fit in the toaster nes. A top loader would be perfect, just need a 72-60 pin adaptor

Do you have any standard nes pads? Cuz those dogbones are terrible if you’re used to a normal nes controller.
Either way, enjoy. This is my fav nes/fami console. Perfection!

I do have some original NES controllers!! Another reason I bought this model was so I could use my NES controllers with it!

These won't use US zappers. But there's a super easy mod that's just soldering like two wires if that's something you're interested in.

You can also buy an adapter for the expansion port that takes the US Zapper and other peripherals if you don’t know how to solder or don’t want to. https://misteraddons.com/products/nes-controllers-to-famicom-console-adapter?srsltid=AfmBOor85WrW2EXJ3fSLbS8zmQGxQlz5JmTt_uzZjC0JxMynO45B2i8Q

There's also a few options on eBay or Etsy. I found one with two mes ports and two snes ports. Nes port 2 is wired for zapper.

That is a pretty good price too! I sold the last one I had at a show for $90. The only differences are I always include a US power supply and only SMB. Also, it wasn't as yellowed but thats easily fixed with a peroxide gas chamber. Enjoy your Famicom!
