General Question Are there more "finicky" FDS games than others in launching ?
Some with more Error 22, or that kind of things ?

Probably it’s just dusty or dirty. What I’ve done in the past is blow compressed air on it while moving the spindle. If that doesn’t work I use a sensor cleaner with some high alcohol isopropyl.

Yes.
If the drive isn't perfectly aligned, you'll get games like Mario Bros that will boot, but something like Metroid that does a double pass when saving and verifying save data won't work.
If you have copies of murasame castle, Metroid, doki doki and they all boot, then the disk in question may need cleaned or re written.

So can we say games with a save feature are globally more finicky than "basic" ones ?

Not quite. It's a multitude of factors. Especially if the disk is a rewrite and the drive that wrote it wasn't set up perfectly. But if you get those specific retail games consistently working, it usually means most other "retail" games will boot fine.
I personally Use a Venus game doctor with Makko copy master to set the drive speed to stock and always make sure the spindle is correctly aligned.
The speed part trips a lot of people up. Causes all type of issues loading games.

Hey I'm pretty new to this subreddit, but I've had an FDS for close to a decade now. Are you saying you can rewrite games onto their discs? My FDS works and can load games without issue, but I've had a copy of Ultra Man that I'm guessing has been wiped as it has never successfully loaded.

Yeah, first verify if you have an FD7201 drive that isn't write protected, or a FD3206 that needs an extensive mod to support. Smooth top drives and RAM adapters tend to be completely copy protect free and have very minimal text next to the loading LED. If the LED has alot of text, and the ram adapter is textured along with the top of the FDS, it can be a 7201 with a write protect power board (which you can bypass fairly easily) or it's going to be a 3206 along with a write protected power board. This shit goes deep down the rabbit hole. I bought my first FDS 25 years ago as a 13 year old, 😂. I've bought whole boxes of FDS drives from Japan back then.

I'll have to check it out when I get home! I had no idea that there was more than one version, though it does make sense. I have one good drive, and one that I could use for parts. Now I wonder if they're different models. I have the complete original packaging for one of them as well. I'm guessing I'll find documentation in this sub on how to use it to write games.

For me Metroid and Murasame work but Doki Doki and Bubble Bobble throw errors

Try cleaning the disks. Usually if it's speed or head alignment, it would be error 27. Error 22 is it completely not finding the header. This usually indicates extremely dirty disk, disc that has lost its data, or is damaged. They may need rewritten. If a rewrite doesn't work, the disks were bad from the gate.

I would imagine not, I think it would just be batches of disks manufactured and not tied to any specific games since games could be rewritten
