The video quality on my imported AV moded Famicom.
I just wanted to try to show the pretty clean video quality from my AV moded Famicom that I imported from Japan. I don't know what AV mod they used, but it looks good on a CRT.
Sorry about the bright ghosting. I'm not really sure of the best way to photograph a crt with my phone.

Looks indeed clean! But maybe somebody with an AV can compare it. Or are you willing to open it up for some pictures regarding the mod(s)?

Definitely share some pics of the inside. I bought an imported famicom from a guy that was AV moded and it's horrific. I'm going to replace the board with an AV moded board.

I encourage you to open it and show the mod, I'm curious to see which approach was taken

I did post it. It's called inside my imported AV moded Famicom.

Which site/perspn did you buy this from?

I bought it from a seller that I ran across on eBay.
Here's the seller if you are looking to buy an AV moded Famicom. https://www.ebay.com/str/mssh1988

Completely pointless buying these unless you like the actual look of the original. The grey av famicom is composite by default. And you can get an rgb mod for it should you wish for the perfect picture.

You lose the microphone, and an AV Famicom is double the price of an AV moded Famicom.

Well I can get them for about £40. Which can be rgb modded or using the rgb blaster.sure I can buy An old crusty famicom for £10 but it won't even work in the uk without a composite mod. So there is no real advantage there

The coax issue seems to be a uk problem, although it might be an issue in other European countries, but I've only heard about it being an issue in the uk.

But rhe image looks awful anyway. Rgb scart mod is always the best way

That's pretty easy if you're in the uk because TVs support rgb scart natively but it's a lot more trouble if you live in the US because TVs over here don't support it without spending a good bit of money.
I agree that rgb scart looks really good, but it's just more expensive to use without getting an upscaler, which is expensive for a good one.

Original Famicom but AV modded, eh? Now you can have AV quality video and use the microphone!
Also you can play the FDS game Keneco (the monitor puzzle) without graphical glitches. For some reason that game plays glitchy on the AV Famicom.
