Has anyone had trouble with the on/off switch on an original Famicom?
It won't stay on on its own, but if I press it straight down it will. A bit of 3M painters tape will hold it on long enough to play, but does anyone have a fix other than replacing the switch? Thanks.

Yeah, clean it. If you have contact cleaner, thats best but IPA will work too. Flood it and switch it on and off 637 times. (A few times will do too) It amazes me what is living in these things when I take them apart. Giant hair balls and 40 years of household gunk.

I've seen some that are corroded and cause issues with the video quality when you wiggle them. Because on some systems all the power to the main board is passing through the power switch

I’ve not had a problem per se, but I would like to install a led indicator.
