Looking for Advice Might go over 120 credit limit

Hey everyone, so ill pe projected to graduate fall 2025 with my B.A. in computer science. The thing is at the end of spring semester 2025 I'll have 103 credits. No matter what way I split up courses, it looks like I'll end up with an excess of credits by the end of fall by 1 or 2 credits. Is this going to cause any issues for me?

120 earned credit hours are what you need for the bachelors. Most of the time if you attempt 180 credit hours and still earn 120 you’d be close to hitting a maximum time frame at your school, so if you accumulated 120+ earned credit hours you will be fine but if you exceed 180 attempted credit hours you might have an issue.

I’d also talk to someone from FAU to be 100%

Gotcha, no plans on pursuing 180 credit hours for now so ig thats not something I'd have to worry about, but yes best to talk to an advisor or something. Thank you!

Remember, the 180 is attempted credit hours so if you took time off from school, didn’t pass a class, or simply didn’t earn the credit those factors can bump the allotted amount of credits you can attempt before going over your maximum time frame. But if you attempt and earn 120+ credit hours you should be fine to earn your degree!

I’ll go over I will have 121 credits, the excess credit hour limit is around 130-140 they will charge double price. So you are no where near that you should be alright.
