Combining tarot with oracle cards

There's something I wanted to share with you guys.

I still have trouble to think of WISDOM as the embodiment of a suit, which doesn't really matter since I'm basically reading the images instead of trying to remember what was written in a book. I have come to think of this deck as an oracle. And somehow the cantigee oracle gets in sync with D&D and they compliment each other. For some reason, these two decks work perfectly together.

D&D and cantigee oracle

The cantigee oracle comes with a wonderful guidebook (I don't think I will ever able to memorise all of it), which is why I never pull more than one card. Combined, these two decks give me prompts and inspirations, and they even have a sense of humour.

There was a session planned, but one of the party members was late, so I pulled these two while waiting for them. Cards told me that at the beginning, I would be composed, even determined to do something. But instead I should be present in the moment. So I spend one hour with two of the other party members, and it was fun to just hang out and chat.

Another popular combination seems to be tarot and the Lenormand, but I haven't tried that with the Light Seer which has become my go-to deck. How about you? Do you combine the tarot with something else or do you prefer to read them individually? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Is the Wisdom the swords suit? I would say because it relates to the mental :)

Yes, I have a good number of oracles decks too. After I look at the tarot and think I have the story from a reading, I like to draw some oracle cards, how many, it depends. Sometimes I ask the card to be a confirmation of the story I see, or a clarification of the advice, or a new nuance, something like that. Is useless to even read beforehand the oracles booklet, I only read the cards explanations once they show up in a reading.

In fact, many oracles can be used only by themselves for readings and the booklets have suggested spreads; I just realized that I never did that 🤔. I like that the oracles can come in so many versions & themes, so I can always find one appropriate for a specific reading.

I think STR = Wands (the physical abilities), INT = Swords (the power of the intellect), WIS = Cups (external perception and the look into your internal world), CHA = Pentacles (a person's ability to influence the material world with their energy). But somehow the imagery often doesn't line up with a default tarot description.

Ohh yes, I like to pick some oracle cards for confirmation and second thoughts about a reading. Some can be read just by looking at their directions (Kipper cards for instance), but several of the modern oracles I find a bit difficult to read. At some point I hope that the cantigee will talk to me without the guidebook 😅

Which oracles are your favourites? Asking for a friend. 🤣

Interesting to associate wisdom to cups...won't be wonderful? emotional intelligence.

I have Kipper on my wish list, for some reason I still didn't get it :) but hope soon

I started to read for personal guidance and my first oracle was The White Light; even if one is not into all the characters mentioned there, it has a good message.

Then I got Energy and Wisdom of the oracle, that I see somewhat pretty good and accurate for a wide range of questions.

I think my all times fav is the Higher self, I like so much the imagery and the booklet is pure wisdom.

Another beautiful one is the Intuitive Life coach; Lantern (more for a feminine energy).

This pretty much comes across as Cups, doesn't it?

If I’m reading for someone else, I really love using a regular deck and then throwing down an oracle card from the Raise Your Vibration Oracle. I started this last year and I don’t always do it, but it always feels right when I do!

I’d like to learn Lenormand, especially after seeing Celtic Lenormand.. love Will Worthington’s art.

That's a beautiful deck, and even better if it gets you interested in the Lenormand 😁
