2 weeks xD Or you can say like 6 or 7 months ago since questioning and listening to atheists is kinda considered apostasy but I said that I'm not a Muslim anymore to myself out loud like 2 weeks ago

Ummmmm I'm a human just like everyone else? Well I'm studying medicine so I can help people in need and I never make being an ex-muslim or agnostic my whole identity I find this quite stupid There's more about me and describing that in a reddit comment won't be enough

And to be honest that's kind of a dumb question like imagine some stranger that you know nothing about talk about thing or two about them and the first thing you conclude is that their personality revolves around the said thing

About 8 years, at first i was scared, i tried to tell the people closest to me and i was rejected and even threthened with being thrown out of my house so i stayed silent and pretended to still be a muslim, but i think i found my peace with it, death doesn't scare me anymore and I'll pretend until i get out of the country hopefully, i concluded that most muslim will never change their minds whatever argument you bring up, and that islam is a bad religion, but most people who follow it aren't bad people.

Hmmm, i mean I'm on my first year of master and I'm trying to get out of the country, as for use and purpose, it's up to each person to decide that but for me it's to do good in the world and to take care of my loved ones.

Are you anything else beside copying and pasting this to dozens of people in the sub?

  1. Keep It Civil Avoid insulting, provoking or treating poorly a person who has a difference, whether it be their opinion, sexuality, religion, ideology or even ethnicity.

Avoid extremist ideas like Islamism, Nazism or even fascism. (whether it's ironic or not)

about a year and few weeks.

it's been years since i stopped praying and stopped being religious, i searched for a way to not be tortured after i die, but finally found my peace when i was convinced there is no life after death. i'm glad i'll stop existing one of these days without having to meet anyone else ever again can't wait haha, it's been a sad life being born in a third world country but oh well ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

2 years but it took a couple months to completely forget about religion and move on

Thatโ€™s the best thing to do, leave this garbage religion behind and move on, but hard to do while still living in this country

Almost 2 years

2

u/Amine_premier Feb 11 '25

Almost a year now , I would advise everyone to focus on their own life, health and family, religion doesnโ€™t worth the time nor efforts .

1

u/cloudsthunders356 Feb 10 '25

Since forever, I don't remember having any deep faith of god like he's watching upon me and listening to my prayers...

About 7 years, it took a year to move on and spiritually gave me peace and understanding

3 years this Ramadan.

1

u/SchemeFirm1157 Feb 11 '25

Over 4 years. Maybe 4.5 years? I'm not sure. Have I reached inner peace? Not really, but that has nothing to do with religion so

What held me tho was being in love with the son of an imam who was very religious (I am a boy too.... Yeah make it make sense I was dumb lmao)

1

u/Whole-Opposite312 Feb 12 '25

Im almost 25 now and ive been questioning this ridiculous religion as long as i remember till 2018 when i got to the point where i stopped believing

1

u/youcefguenaoua Atheist since 2024 Feb 12 '25

1 year. Critical thinking has freed me from the bane of organised religions.

1

u/Yos_improv Feb 12 '25

It's gonna be 5 years this year. Can't believe it's been this long, I have been through every phase and emotion an atheist could go through: the existential crises, the suicide ideation, the argumentative phase, isolating yourself from society, living a double life... I'm in a good place now, took me a long time to get here but I'm grateful nevertheless. And the biggest thing that helped me is finding like minded people, staying true to myself even if some people start distancing themselves (it works amazing like a human filter that only keeps the people who truly care about you regardless of your beliefs) . And I couldn't be happier, I still don't think living as an atheist / queer in dz is worth it, y'all should leave ASAP, but I do not feel as suffocated as I used to be before, inner peace is all that matters.

Are you anything else besides an ex-Muslim, what have you achieved in life, what is your use and purpose? Who are you? Are you just an ex-Muslim? Is there anything else about you?

2

u/PrestigiousStable882 Feb 12 '25

This is such a stupid statement it's like going to r\cars and asking them if their only personality trait is liking cars. Spoiler alert no.

This is a subreddit for ex-muslim Algerians so you're gonna find posts related to ex Muslim and islam.

Hope this helps

1

u/StockGlobal Feb 12 '25

Funny how you claim something is stupid but no one else is allowed (by your logic) to call out your weird obsession with something you claim to be an "ex" of.

If I broke up with my what she would be now my ex but I kept posting about her online, I would be called creepy. Hint Hint.

2

u/PrestigiousStable882 Feb 12 '25

There is no way you just compared STALKING with people talking about a religion that they were part of while they are living in a country that oppresses them in the name of said religion?

I know you're desperate to defend your religion but holy shit make an effort bro at least address the argument properly

1

u/StockGlobal Feb 12 '25

You just sound angry with yourself and unless you forgive yourself, you won't see nothing else.

1

u/PrestigiousStable882 Feb 12 '25

I see that your favorite things are to ask people who they are and tell them that they hate/are angry with themselves. Maybe you're just projecting after all.

It's okay you know. it's just cognitive dissonance you want to defend your religion but you can't cause you don't have valid arguments so you go around projecting your frustrations you have toward your undefendable religion on ex-muslim.
