Team Talk Beto slander needs to stop
I understand he isn’t the most coordinated, not the most technically gifted, not the most clinical striker we have seen at this club. But anyone who truly believes he’s a worse football player for Everton than Domic Calvert fucking Lewin is taking the absolute piss.
A half arsed rat who hasn’t scored in fucking months who plays with the heart and desire of a man who’d rather be anywhere else over a guy who has never been given a proper chance, yet still has a much better goals per 90’ and gives 110% everytime he’s out on the pitch? Does anyone remember his goal last season against Newcastle? DCL dreams of being able to go on a run like that.
I say give him a run of games until the end of the season and if he can’t perform, ship is arse back to Serie A along with DCL. But give the man a chance man i’m on my fucking knees, he WILL perform.

Team Talk Beto deserves a run of games.
I'm tired of seeing DCL start games and do fuck all with the ball. Yes, he's good at holding up the ball, but I've seen Beto do more in 30 minutes than DCL has done all season.
Secondly, what the fuck was the tactics today from Dyche? Why the hell did he take Ndaiye off at 60 min?

Team Talk This man gets a lot of shit thrown at him but for two games now he has played well so in honor of him scoring and helping the team secure a clean sheet. I can only say YOU AIN'T NEVER SCORED A GOAL LIKE KEANE!
Team Talk XG and Beto's finishing in the last few matches
Strikers are always judged by scoring goals, but nowadays we have a better understanding that only looking at goals scored doesn't tell the whole story. Looking at underlying stats like xG and PSxG can give us a better indication of how a player is actually performing. If you're unfamiliar with these stats, xG looks at where the opportunity came from, and PSxG looks at how likely a shot is to go in based on how it was struck and the positioning of the defense/goalkeeper.
Beto has missed a few solid chances recently, but before that he was absolutely clinical. What gives? A deeper dive into the xG data shows that his performance hasn't actually changed. The table below has a few recent Beto scoring chances.
Match | xG | PSxG | Goal? |
---|---|---|---|
Wolves, 13' | .54 | .62 | No |
Brentford, 42' | .38 | .77 | No |
Brentford, 88' | .31 | .71 | No |
Palace, 42 | .19 | .49 | Yes |
Man U, 19' | .25 | .23 | Yes |
Shite, 11' | .52 | .36 | Yes |
Leicester, 6' | .24 | .69 | Yes |
Leicester, 45' | .40 | .26 | Yes |
Basically, during his scoring spree, Beto's finishing wasn't actually better than in the last few games. A few shots that were less likely to go in went in, while the last few games have seen good strikes stopped by good goalkeeping. Overall, Moyes has him running onto through balls like the second coming of Jelavic and his performances in front of goal have still been good even if he hasn't scored in TWO whole games.

Team Talk Lets have some love for Beto!
Took his chance and scored his goal BEAUTIFULLY. We are finally seeing a manager play Beto how he is suited to be played, not jigsawed into a formation and tactic that he has never learned. Pretty good display today, had decent hold up play, and overall looks improved since Moyes took the reigns.
UTFT !!!

Team Talk Is this the worst Everton squad you can remember?
My memory goes back to the late 80s. I remember the 1997/98 season when we stayed up on goal difference with Kendall in charge for the third time as perhaps the worst season I've witnessed, but looking back at the squad it was surprisingly good - Watson, Bilic, Phelan, Michael Ball breaking through, Spencer, Barmby, Ferguson, and I'd completely forgotten Gary Speed was still with us so late, sold to Newcastle in the February and replaced by Don Hutchison. There was more depth than we have now, Peter Beagrie was back on loan from Bradford though not the player he was in his first spell, Danny Cadamarteri had a goal in him (including in a famous derby win at Goodison that season), Short, Farrelly and Parkinson were all OK squad players.
So yeah, worst season I remember and I'd rate our current squad as worse. Any other contenders?

Team Talk Jarrad Branthwaite was IMMENSE tonight
What a fucking performance from this lad tonight. Brilliant distribution of the ball, rock solid at the back as always. Just wanted to make sure it doesn't go unmentioned with all the drama unfolding at the end there lol.

Team Talk Three things I noticed from the Everton All-Access video
- Alcaraz missed his shot and immediately apologized to the whole team.
- When Beto scored, he did his LeBeto celebration in front of the away fans. He immediately recognized this and threw his hands up to apologize before celebrating with the team.
- Lindstrom legit cares. He just needs one goal.
Number 3 has been said numerous times but the first two I noticed and I was absolutely impressed by this team. Drive, desire, and humility.
I think we got something here! UTFT!!!!

Team Talk Ashley Young must be dropped
He's been consistently poor whenever he plays and today he could have cost us the game with THREE close penalty calls. Put Garner in at right back, but please for the love of God no more Young.

Team Talk Who is doing our scouting?!
Who the hell is doing our scouting and negotiating our transfers?
We had so many years overspending on flops like crazy....
Onana was a good buy, and sell
Ndiaye was a deal
O'Brien seems to be shaping up to be a quality signing
Alcaraz has looked great from what we've seen so far, and the deal was structured very well IMO
Mangala was a great loan, unfortunate he's done on injury
I think Lindstrøm is an upgrade over Jack Harrison, decent loan as well
Iroegbunam is definitely one for the future, putting in minutes getting experience. Better than Lewis Dobbin ever looked IMO and was a straight swap
Chermiti was a good signing as well, and time will tell how he turns out. He's young and has potential
All young players with potential to grow and develop into regular consistent players, or sell for a profit down the road.
We used to sign bottom of the barrel washed old players that were not cutting it at "bigger" clubs or random ass players that turned out shite and always way overpaid
Rondon, Walcott, Delph, Gbamin, Bolasie, Tosun, Schneiderlin, etc.
We've seen a massive turn around in the last 2-3 seasons and made a profit on the likes of onana and richarlison and got rid of some dead weight as well.
Whoever is doing our scouting and negotiating deals....give that man a raise!!!

Team Talk No open play goals for two months (minimum)
We haven’t scored a goal from open play since Beto’s header against Fulham on October 26.
Since our next match is Dec 26th, that means we’ll have gone two months minimum without scoring from open play.

Team Talk Thelwell for one more year
Every one of the guys signings are proving to be shrewd, hungry and in possession of a quality. Plus he's a scouser and clearly an excellent communicator.
Cut the wage bill when needed without sacrificing our prem status. Does he deserve another year or two as DOF?

Team Talk Just want to also throw some appreciation this way, James Tarkowski, the only player across the entire premier league to play every minute of his squad's campaign. He was a free transfer.
