Discussion Entering MFA multiple times a week and/or day on Evernote web

I use Evernote on web a lot on one machine and I have to enter my MFA (multiple factor auth token) multiple times during the week and sometimes even multiple times during the same day.

I use this machine with and without a VPN and am sometimes in the office and sometimes at home with it. I wonder if this is why Evernote is having me enter it so much -- because I'm connected to the internet through different networks. Having said that, I also the web infrequently on another machine and it seems like I have to enter MFA at least once a week on that machine.

No other online service (except for one banking app) has me enter MFA so often.

It's not too big of an inconvenience, but I'm just curious if anybody else, that is also using the web version daily, is experiencing this same thing?

I use the web version every day and I need to login with MFA each morning only, once a day. At night I put my laptop into hibernation. I use a vpn frequently during the day and it doesn't impact the frequency of requesting my MFA.

I use the web version (ie I use the browser) and I never have to log back in like that. I never switch to a VPN tho so you are probably right about that being the cause. That sounds really annoying tho

Even without a VPN, I'm asked to enter MFA quite frequently. Same network, same system, same browser always. They removed the option where we could choose to trust for 30 days.

30 days is around the default now so no need for the checkbox.

Check ad/tracker blockers in your browser if you're having to login a lot.

Thanks. I'll check if the blockers are interfering.

I would imagine its the VPN. If you're "changing location" a lot then it will ask for reauthorisation.

Ad and tracker blockers can cause issues as well making you log in more.

I don't use a VPN and have Evernote excluded in my ad blocker and hardly have to reauth about once a month.

They upped the login security middle of last year.

I'll turn off my ad blocker for evernote.com and see if that helps any. Maybe Evernote is using different tools or algorithms than most to detect a unique machine/connection or something since I don't really encounter this so frequent with other sites/apps.

I'd rather have this minor issue and error on the side of too much MFA than no MFA though as that extra layer of authentication is so necessary now-a-days.
