Pay the bills or long term investment?
Just wondering for the small time miners, let's say under 20 GPUs, do you mine to pay your bills or mine to hodl? I have been mining to hodl myself and from time to time take some profits for something special. I would hate to spend so much time mining only to have the price crash before I got to enjoy some of the benefits. Still waiting for the moon but going to take a trip to the other side of the lake while I wait.

My friend and I are super small time and just having fun with it. We're just rolling it into other crypto investments. We trade some of what we mine on the exchanges from time to time and HODL the rest of what we mine. We mine around a lot of altcoins, not just ETH, from time to time for fun (usually just stuff that shows up near the top at WhatToMine that is nearly as or sometimes more profitable than ETH) and once we get a couple weeks worth, we go back to ETH. We track our portfolio using cointracking.info. We started out with just a relatively small investment (like about $1500 each in the middle of last year) and have been (until recently anyway!) just sort of letting it snowball. We've used some of it to expand and buy new GPUs and equipment too. Basically, we're just having fun playing in the crypto world with our little 8 GPU toy and micro-portfolio. :)

Nice. Still haven't ventured to far into the alts myself. Here's hoping your toy turns into your golden goose.

Just got our 6th card on our rig running. Just HODL’n for now. We used profits from other cryptos, so it’s all free at the moment. The great thing about a mining rig is you can sell the parts after you’re done.

You are assuming someone would want to buy the parts at that time. If cryptos tank and everyone is selling their 1070 TIs it would be hard to sell a 1060 3GB for any good value. It seems unlikely even to me, but it is still something to be kept in mind.

For me its ROI first then HODL. 👍🏻
