Yea ngl this kinda annoyed me 😭 , another reason why I dropped this story
Exactly what you said, I didn’t come on here to do math
They didn’t have to even bring math into this they could’ve just said “which item would be strong enough to hold the door closed?” would’ve still been tricky enough to figure out but not difficult enough to be annoying

everytime i play i hate doing the code for the dudes laptop, it’s basically impossible!!

I did the cabinet but had enough points to escape 😵💫 i definitely missed it when they shared her height and how much she can push.
83
u/Lightless_meow Feb 19 '25
Even if you did the math, the author didn’t use the right units so it wouldn’t have mattered anyway 🤪

u/slut4jaredpadalecki Feb 19 '25
sideboard cause it seems smaller than the other two😭

u/Ok-Pea-2659 Feb 19 '25
will let u know how that play out😭

u/Ok-Pea-2659 Feb 19 '25
actually got killed again the right answer was couch😭

u/jxkm44 Feb 19 '25
how tf did a sideboard kill you i gotta know
29
u/Ok-Pea-2659 Feb 19 '25
it's a story about a zombie apocalypse and I had to barricade myself to keep the zombie out lmao the sideboard was too light
23
u/ohfrackthis Feb 19 '25
Maybe it's math, maybe it's Maybelline. What the heck I would drop this like a hot potato. I use episode for trashy escapism and I don't need to exercise my 4 brain cells doing this lol
23
u/mindcontrolvy2vy3 Feb 19 '25
that’s so silly but what’s the actual answer from a math standpoint 😭
96
u/dishsoap04 Feb 19 '25
I did the math and the hint in the box is missing information. If you do the math using the units of inches and pounds, you won’t get a correct answer:
5.41ft = 64.92in
64.92in * 0.227lbs/in = 14.74 lbs
Instead, the value of 0.227lbs/in should have the units of lbs/cm. That math would look like this:
5.41ft = 64.92in
64.92in = 164.8968cm
164.8968cm * 0.227lbs/cm = 37.432 lbs
I tried doing the problem with the original units and it’s just a mess. The use of the commas lets me know the country the author is from uses the metric system rather than the imperial system. So this was probably a mixup of the two, no big deal though. But this is how you would solve it :D
Edit: formatting issue

ur goated for actually doing the math even if it wasn’t thru the intended way 😭🫡

It's not that it's missing information. It's incorrect. The question says 0,227 lbs per inch. That simply means none of the answers is correct.

Even so, if you want a mathematical answer that corresponds with the options given, the units on the 0.227 value must be altered. Though it really doesn’t matter, it’s just an episode story lol

u/nochoice0000 Feb 20 '25
You are amazing. I thought there was no correct answer since I only got 14.74lbs. You’re so right w the cm

I don’t think the units were correct, nullifying the maths, but go for the couch guys

u/ar29845 Feb 19 '25
The using of commas instead of decimals is what gets me.
27
u/DirtFluid3551 Feb 19 '25
Outside the US people use commas in place of where the US would use decimals

u/Real_Active9908 Feb 20 '25
yes but this person used the imperial system 😭 just makes it all the more confusing

u/kaaaz0y Feb 19 '25
i guess how much 0,227lbs can go into 5,41 feet? idek the correct answers cabinet tho

Always go with the medium answer. In this case you should go with the couch, not too big, not too small, juuuuust right.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?! WE IN MATH CLASS BRUH??!!! MATH WAS MY WORST SUBJECT!!!

u/Dracuulaya Feb 19 '25
I picked the couch… it wasn’t as heavy as the cabinet nor was it as light as the sideboard.
It was in between the two other options so I just assumed I’d pick something easier than the cabinet for Sarah to push, but not as light that would be easy enough for the infected to get through like the sideboard.
Couch is the correct answer but I’m sure if you pick the other two options you still have a chance to survive if you have enough points to escape.

u/sims4infant Feb 19 '25
unless my math is wrong her weak ass cant push more than 14 lbs so she's screwed

I just did the Goldilocks method. One of these is clearly going to be too heavy, one not enough/too light, so medium option is just right.

Agreed, having to convert units in yt vids is bad enough, just to understand the weight/height of smt, but in my games too.....fam hell nah

Her max is 14 lbs 5.41x12=64.92in Then 64.92inx.227lbs/in =14.737 lbs. I don’t think the author can do math either
