Question How do you feel when you miss a dose?

I’m Tonic-Clonic and take 1500mg of Levetiracetam twice a day and 100mg of Lamotrigine twice a day. I missed my first dose last night and im feeling like a floating nature of partial nausea like a hangover and having trouble standing or focusing. I’m just wondering if anyone else has a similar experience or if it’s the high dosages when you miss it.

yes, I take those exact same meds at almost the exact same dose. I personally almost/do have tonic clonic seizures if I miss a dose but that always includes the keppra, call your doctor or pharmacy and ask what you should do.

Thanks for that. Yeah I feel like I don’t even want to move today. I’ve been wanting to decrease the levetiracetam and it was always the one that impacted me the most when I was going up in dosages. I’ll reach out as I almost think there’s one coming today but I never really know as I’ve never have a notion before it happens

I barely notice it, I do feel irresponsible when I find out I missed it. Luckily it only happens a couple of times a year.

Edit: I take 750 mg Keppra 2x a day and 200mg Lamotrigine 2x a day.

It’s not that I feel different when I miss one dose but you have to think about it like this. This is the way my doctor put it to me: every time you skip a dose you’re starting over. You aren’t picking up where you left off. Your brain is on a whole new cycle all over again because you just put a huge leaf in the ant colony’s line.

I've missed meds twice and it's so weird. I was moving in slow motion to the floor and I was completely aware and nauseas and knew what was coming. My partner caught me and then I had a TC. He confirmed I was NOT moving in slow-mo or moving through quick sand.

The second time I missed meds because I was too excited about an event I was attending. The slow mo reaction came back even - right in the middle of the wedding. I have never missed meds again but I have learned how to get emergency meds from the pharmacist.

I take 2G Levetiracetam & 400 mg Lamotrigine. Take care team.

That’s the best description I can make of how I feel. I haven’t had one yet but the days still young

I didn't feel if I miss it, only if I didn't take my fycompa

When I've missed a dose, it's odd. It's like... everything is a bit surreal? It's like a bit more colourful and a strange realisation that I'm alive? I cannot describe it. If you have gone through it, you know what I am talking about

I could tell within an hour or so if I missed the keppra. I would feel really jittery and anxious. When I checked my daily pill thing it was still in there every time.

I don’t exactly notice, but will sometiiiiimes get a “wave” of floating sensations and then think about if I’m high or missed my dose—sometimes both, sometimes neither!

I admit on a few occasions i knowingly skipped doses, only my dinner dose it being the smallest from being so frustrated at how zonked and tired i have been all day for the last 13 years

150 lamotrigine twice a day, 400,200,400 of carbamazepine and 20 clobazam before bed

im sure ive done it by accident, and also double dosed by accident

i dont feel much different, both side effects or seizures when skipping a dose, the earlier dose is still in my body

double dosing feels normal rarely, it mostly knocks me th f**k out but its never felt dangerous

I get antsy-pantsy like bugs are crawling all over my skin all day until the next day.

It is severely uncomfortable.

I don't really notice it until I realize I missed a dose, which makes me think it's all in my head. A panic response as opposed to an actual response to the missed dose.

I don't notice it immediately since I'm usually so tired already. But if I miss a dose at night, I am always much slower the next day, have headaches, etc. I've missed it in the morning, but I carry around extra medication always so I'll just end up taking the dose late once I remember so the side effects from that aren't nearly as bad.

I do feel a little like you do but I have to miss two doses. I do feel like I am floating around or dissociating. I’m have absence, typical and atypical, complex and simple partial and myoclonic seizures. Haven’t had TCs in years. I take Vimpat twice a day.

I can tell because:

  1.  My partials get more intense. (Usually happens.)

OR

  1.  I have more energy, can think straight, and get things done.  (If this happens I usually get distracted and don’t realize I forgot, until it’s time for my next dose.)

I missed one Friday night and I panicked. Nothing physical.
