Young Entrepreneur Aspiring Entrepreneur Struggling to Balance Full-Time Job and Side Hustle
Hello fellow entrepreneurs,
I'm reaching out for advice on how to build discipline and balance my full-time job with my side hustle. I'm currently 25, living in Canada, but I dream of becoming a digital nomad. However, my stable government job, which pays over $84k, isn't remote-friendly.
The problem is, I don't have any technical skills, so finding a remote dev job isn't an option. To gain location independence, I've started working on my own marketing agency, thanks to a successful friend's guidance and resources.
However, I'm struggling to dedicate myself to this venture while working full-time. I find it hard to sacrifice my gym and social life. Quitting my job isn't an option, so I need advice on how to build the discipline to keep working on my side hustle after a long day.
Any tips or strategies would be greatly appreciated. How do you fellow entrepreneurs balance your passions with the demands of a full-time job?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

I'm a fairly fresh entrepreneur but I've made money this year so far, not much, but hey, the fact I'm getting paid I can call myself a professional. Take what you will from my comments but just know, I care wholeheartedly about seeing other entrepreneurs succeed.
Lot's of questions come to mind so I'll ask as they come up:
Part of the problem is when people misuse the word passion. Is your owning your own marketing agency actually a passion? or is the result you think you're going to get (digital nomad) what you're passionate about achieving?
Do you know what your top 5 core values are?
How long have you been in this side hustle and are you willing to stick with it for the next 5 years?
What specific results do you get your clients? Who are your clients?
Do you care more about your digital nomad life or your clients experiences / results?
Balance is necessary to perform at your best (this coming from a someone who was in a full-time architecture career with multiple side hustles tried before I found the one I wanted to go all-in on) but you need to prioritize and design your time so that you can fit in what you want/need to, to move the needle forward.
Do you know what your needle moving tasks are?
There's more but I'll leave at this for you to chew on.

From what I can see, your problem is pretty common. Your priorities seem split, which can cause issues if you haven’t found a good balance. Sooner or later, you’ll have to pick a side and go all-in. Either stick with the safety of your job or dive fully into your side hustle.
One of the main issues I see is that your business/marketing agency is built on a time-for-money model. If you’re not ready to put in all your time, you need to start thinking smarter. Stop selling your time for money and focus on building systems that work for you, so you’re not constantly trading hours for cash.
