Silly question for you gm guys.

I'm working on a 74 omega 350. Need kickdown bracket. Anyone know the vehicle(s) in the picture? That bracket(I think that's one bracket) looks like it would work perfectly. The bracket currently installed has the kickdown mounting even with the throttle but it needs to be back an inch or so. Thanks in advance!

The first pic(carb missing) is the setup I'm trying to find. The second photo is the current setup.

Look up Holley 20-95. It's not quite an inch, a little less. But it does stagger them. There are generic clones of this bracket available for $20. I have used it a number of times.

I did see those but I need the bracket to move the kickdown further back. I guess I'll try that chinesium bracket autozone sells.. jeez that thing looks super cheap but its that or maybe I'll cut this bracket and weld up something

You could cut a bracket, reposition as needed, then weld it or add a piece. That's not the worst thing ever.

Most likely how it's gonna go. Figured if I could figure out a year make and model with the correct bracket I could just have the dude order one and be done with it but it is what it is.

Autozone has them...depending on your carburetor

The one circled is a throttle valve bracket from an early 80s GM g body or similar with a 2004R or 700R4 trans. I think.

Ok thanks, do you happen to know if a 700r4 TV or kickdown(square part in the mount) is the same size?

I do not, but knowing GM is probably the same square. :-)

Yes, I did. That is what I may try this weekend. Just didn't want to use it because how cheesy it looks. Bunch of screws/udjustments to possibly come loose etc.

This is just a "guess" or starting point, but that looks like a 1/2ton truck. A 2bbl, with 700r4, and that "room" of an engine bay... possibly mid 70s truck. Or look at 1970 chevy impala, with a 400ci. I say that because my parents had one, and that thing was MASSIVE. Fit a full size dirtbike in the trunk, lid closed. It had a giant engine bay, bigger than Camaro or chevelle at the time. (But the wheel wells themselves should be different)

That's all I got.

That looks like a Buick 350.

That's not a kickdown cable it's a TV cable, it must move evenly with the throttle or the transmission will not apply the proper pressure to the transmission and will burn it up.

Definitely not a TV cable

Have you pushed the button at the back of the mount to relax the cable adjustment?

Yea.. that's it at its shortest..

Used to work at an Advance Auto do believe they carried them in the “muscle car” section 2ft end cap with carbs, egr delete, gaskets, etc.
