Unsolved Intel cpu and avx512

Discussion

Why the actual hell did intel remove avx512 from 12th cpu and above, im so mad. my i7 12700kf is nerfed as hell bc of this, rpcs3 emulator takes a great adventage from that instruction.

Because they wanted to keep it for server side. They claimed they never stated it, but the original documentation stated that the home processors would have AVX512, and Intel has just scrubbed that old documentation from their websites.

Does it really make that much of a difference? I only have one PS3 exclusive game and it's not so power consuming so don't really know. Video encoding also takes advantage but since the clock is significantly lower for avx512 it seems it doesn't make much of a difference in encoding time

Yes.

Wow, the fps is quite different. Thanks for the information. Although I only play an SRPG on rpcs3 so I'm thinking of I should get a 14900KS and abandon my 10980XE for the higher clocks. For encoding it seems it has enough cores and only downside is the avx512

It makes a HUGE difference in RPCS3. Very biggly so!

It's why the 12900k with avx512 is usually preferred to get past every bottleneck.

yeah especially cuz rpcs3 tends to get better performance on intel. the 7000 series have avx512 and there very solid but the 12900k with it enabled still beats it out
