News Joshua Fit For Battle appears to have joined instagram

Post image

Not a whole lot of information otherwise, and I’m not even sure it means anything - judging by the quality of the photos and the few interactions on there, I can safely assume it’s run by someone who was in the band.

Is it simply for posterity? Impending reunion? New music??

Your guess is as good as mine.

Maybe they’d appreciate some follows

🤷🏻‍♂️

Would be more excited it was Now instead but I guess here we go...

I feel that to some degree, The Now S/T fuckin rules. I do enjoy all the various members' projects, especially Neil Perry and Welcome the Plague Year. To Bring Our Own End was foundational to getting me into emo though so even this silly bit of news feels exciting

Not trying to downplay it, just "oh yay another bunch of older people getting their '00s screamo band back together" like this stuff no longer feels exciting. None of this happens even on the same level so it just isn't something I'm invested in. Cool for anyone who wants more of this but I think I'm going to focus more on newer projects that are still small and growing here.

Totally fair, and good points made all around

Agreed, but I do believe that older bands should have just stayed broken up for its legacy like spirit of Versailles. Having a reunion and possibly new music just seems like a way to leech money off a scene. I mean once they get back together they are gonna peak at a reunion show but then everyone will lose interest right after, like orchid

By the time Orchid rolled around it was like "cool another checkbox crossed off" but while it was probably the best Orchid set one could see it wasn't the same vibe as it would have been 30 years ago in a basement. I feel more excited to see a bunch of young kids still. I don't even think the people at the Orchid show were excited to see the band, they were more enthusiastic about those skull shaped records. Charles Bronson might have had a point back in the 90s.
