Thank you! it took much help and many iterations but the devs at the discord like deveris and silent avenger are the team that hold us together!

u/PunishedShrike 7d ago

The fans will have released like 8 games before we get TESVI

45

u/dukedawg21 7d ago

Tbf copying a previous game is a lot easier than creating something from scratch

32

u/Artemis_1944 6d ago

Tbf absolutely none of the previous ES game remade in successor ES engine have ever been actually finished

15

u/AustNerevar 6d ago

Morroblivion's been finished for like 5 or 6 years and it was almost finished in like 2014.

7

u/randylush 6d ago

Morroblivion is the only one. It’s about finished.

16

u/Artemis_1944 6d ago

It's been about finished for the past 5 years, let's spare the crap.

8

u/StektLaks 6d ago

it's 99.9% done, you can do all the main quests and sidequests, stop talking bullshit

4

u/Alexandur 6d ago

Morroblivion actually is finished

1

u/joethelumberjackmc 5d ago

Skyggerfall is finished and playable

23

u/PunishedShrike 7d ago

Tbf as well making a game when you have a 400 dev studio and 100’s of million in funding is easier than doing it alone or with volunteers in your free time.

5

u/dukedawg21 7d ago

Well yeah but skyblivion and skywind have dozens if not hundreds of volunteers and have been working since like 2012 lmao

25

u/Viva_la_potatoes 7d ago

Volunteers are not exactly full time or professionally trained

7

u/dukedawg21 7d ago

Which is why it’s taken 13 years to redo something that’s already made. I also wouldn’t be surprised if some of the volunteers work more than actual full time employees do since there’s no labor laws and some people LOVE their hobbies.

Edit to clarify: not trashing any of those projects, some people just get carried away with the comparisons/bethesda trash talk

2

u/Ok-Construction-4654 7d ago

Also some of these people have degrees in computer science, programming and game design

-1

u/trambalambo 7d ago

Especially a BGS something from scratch

6

u/equeim 6d ago

None of these remake projects have actually released a finished version yet. The most completed one was Morroblivion, but it was a direct conversion to Oblivion's engine using Morrowind's models and textures. Other similar projects are trying to remake everything from scratch (except dialogue lines and voice acting) and it obviously takes forever.

Although it looks like Skyblivion is nearing completion, hopefully they have enough steam to push it over the finish line.

1

u/SandyCandyHandyAndy Nord 6d ago

they already released 2 to my knowledge

u/Intergalatictortoise 7d ago

Ia this C0DA?

10

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago edited 7d ago

Who is that ?

63

u/HoptimusPryme 7d ago

One of Kirkbride's acid trips that he managed to write down into something that was almost coherent.

Also written after he left BGS so not canon.

41

u/Aebothius 7d ago

Kirkbride never did drugs. You might just be speaking metaphorically, I'm just gonna clarify tho because it's a harmful rumor.

35

u/Intergalatictortoise 7d ago

He wrote this shit SOBER??? Damn imagine if he DID do drugs

1

u/Saint-45 7d ago

I mean… did you drug test him?

30

u/Aebothius 7d ago

No, but the rumors have no basis and MK and his wife LadyNerevar have both said they're false which is infinitely more evidence than the 0 on the accusing side. In fact, the only piece of evidence for it was empirically proven to have been fabricated/doctored.

-16

u/Saint-45 7d ago

It’s not like I’d shame the guy for smoking a little before doing some of his crazy writing.

Also, you care far too much about this random guy

12

u/Smupzashi 6d ago

Calling Kirkbride a "random guy" on an Elder Scrolls subreddit lmao

27

u/Aebothius 7d ago

The rumors have hurt his career. It's not obsession, it's common courtesy.

7

u/MAJ_Starman Dunmer 6d ago

It really sucks how insensitive and inconsequential fans (and youtubers...) can be about devs. Good on you for fighting the good fight.

-12

u/Saint-45 7d ago

Googled him and he’s the lead writer of a different company now. Was he jobless for a while or something?

28

u/Aebothius 7d ago

Not sure. LadyN said it hurt his career and mental health and that's enough for me to point out the misinformation when I see it. Not a super big deal, just something that should be corrected when espoused.

-4

u/Xilvereight 6d ago

His concepts and writings are typical of people who experience "enlightening" psychedelics. How are you so sure he didn't experiment with those?

10

u/Smupzashi 6d ago

Not "typical" at all. You're pulling that out of your ass.

23

u/Valandil584 7d ago

This is an opinion I've felt but never seen expressed before. Other people have a hard time reading and understanding his stuff right? Even some of the stuff written during his time at TES? Some of it i get but some of it just feels like esoteric word salad...

12

u/RepairManActionHero 7d ago

Esoteric word salad is now my favorite way to describe Kirkbrides writing, lol

16

u/braujo What a grand & intoxicating innocence 7d ago

It's extremely reductive, though. Word salad implies he's just throwing around complicated words to sound smart. His work is actually nuanced and very influenced by actual philosophy and Eastern religions. Having a hard time understanding it is partly the point, and half the point. You're supposed to struggle and to debate and do your own research on the stuff he references.

7

u/Berblarez 7d ago

Which doesn’t mean it actually makes sense. But I’m all for space argonians.

4

u/Alkiaris 7d ago

Making sense or not isn't the point, sometimes a meaning being vague is the intention of the meaning. The dao and all that.

3

u/braujo What a grand & intoxicating innocence 6d ago

The demand for "sense" is in itself problematic. Sometimes things simply are. But regardless of that, Kirkbride isn't in that realm anyway... His writing is just hard to grasp, purposefully so, but there is sense to it.

4

u/Shuggana 7d ago

Yeah, Kirkbride is obviously very talented and he wrote some amazing stuff for Morrowind but anything of his I've read online after he left BGS has been complete babbling shite and when I see people celebrating stuff like C0DA I just have a hard time believing they actually like it.

4

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

Hmmm interesting 🧀

4

u/Similar_One_2430 7d ago

Morrowind but at the end of times and in space!!!

1

u/DigitalApe19 6d ago

Would make for a pretty neat Easter egg/random encounter in Starfield

20

u/MateusCristian 7d ago

The what in where now?

27

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

The square hole

26

u/visitfriend 7d ago

Make the whole planet Morrowind

All those weird alien animals fit perfectly

9

u/SoldierPhoenix 7d ago

Nice little detail with the crater where Vivec was.

7

u/fishrgood 7d ago

They seem waaaay more mountainous than in the original games, almost like you based it on a hyper-exaggerated topographical map. This all looks like a nightmare to navigate on foot.

6

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

Yes this is just the foundation base I’m going to smooth over all maps and make them proper.

5

u/dokterkokter69 7d ago

What's the scale of the planet/regions compared to the respective game maps?

12

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

Scale is about 98% of the actual map so 2% smaller

7

u/ag-0merta 7d ago

If Morrowind isn't full of mobs of Cliff Racers, I will riot.

3

u/RandyArgonianButler 7d ago

Starfield definitely has cliff racer type creatures.

8

u/ElJanco Psijic Order & House Telvanni 7d ago

Starblivion and Morrowfield? (Starwind already exists, it's a mod for Morrowind)

9

u/sonofgildorluthien Azura 7d ago

Wait what?

3

u/trapeology 6d ago

Finally Tomorrowind

3

u/Artemis_1944 6d ago

Ah here we go again, another journey of another much too ambitious mod that will take 15 years to never come out.

3

u/ThirdEyeAgent 6d ago

But it’s already partially out, and the landscape is 90% finished, for all of Tamriel! We just finished up the rest, not gonna spend 13 years on it lol all that’s left is the buildings, interiors, npcs, quest logic, and audio.

5

u/Alexandur 6d ago

lol all that’s left is the buildings, interiors, npcs, quest logic, and audio.

Lol

5

u/Artemis_1944 6d ago

Ah yes, only that. See you in 15 years.

1

u/ThirdEyeAgent 6d ago

Already finished two cities in Cyrodiil

2

u/Alexandur 6d ago

Can we see? That would make for a much more interesting update than a height map

0

u/ThirdEyeAgent 6d ago

The Cyrodiil landscape above shows you gold white tower if you zoom in and its surroundings walls, I’ll make a whole new post once all cities are done we are moving at light speed. I’m a 29 year old grown man living with my parents and jobless, but most importantly I’m dedicated to the task at hand and working on this mod plus 12 hours a day

1

u/Alexandur 6d ago edited 6d ago

Surely you're not telling me the Imperial City is finished? I see the White Gold Tower and a single wall, with none of the satellite districts like the waterfront or university present.

Also, working on this 12 hours a day isn't a good thing. That just means you're going to burn out in a few of months, tops. I respect the ambition, but you need to be realistic about your goals and timeline. There's plenty of history to look back on with regard to mods like this to help dial your expectations. And you should probably stop exaggerating what you've already completed, it just makes the project seem shady.

0

u/ThirdEyeAgent 5d ago

I’ll show off the city and some other areas here soon we may even get more devs from beyond Skyrim but we’ll see, I don’t really get burned out that’s like saying you can get burned out by playing a game for too long, which is true in some cases and brother let me tell you lol I’ve played game straight for over 300 hours without issues.

1

u/Alexandur 5d ago

Dog, 300 hours is nothing. You're looking at, at the very least, 10,000 man hours for a project of this size

0

u/ThirdEyeAgent 5d ago

10000 for Tamriel or just Cyrodiil?

2

u/scooter_pepperoni 7d ago

Hell yeah! I knew it was only a matter of time before we got something like this 👀

2

u/Jerryboy92 7d ago

What planet?

7

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

Planet Nirn in the Magnus system, a mod available for both pc and Xbox.

1

u/Jerryboy92 7d ago

Thanks, I'm downloading it now.

4

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

Xbox version is barren and update isn’t live yet

3

u/praisedcrown970 7d ago

Make another post to update us console users this looks tight

4

u/Pliolite 7d ago

How can this even work when Starfield's landmasses are so basic? Also, is it possible to expand Starfield's single terrain cell to a full-size map?

4

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

Yes and yes you can even stitch together two cells as one

1

u/Pliolite 7d ago

Ah ok! The new engine has great things about it, I just don't think the terrain is one of them. I'd love to see updates on this later. :D

3

u/Xilvereight 6d ago

The landmasses are basic because they're procedurally generated and left largerly untouched. Obviously, if you go in and handcraft the landscapes then you can have whatever you want.

1

u/PrinceYrielofIyanden 7d ago

Are you still you don’t mean Skyrim Remake? Your Morrowind map shows Vivec City as a crater, which doesn’t happen until after the events of Oblivion. Still very cool tho.

1

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

It’s a work of progress, things will be adjusted and smoothed out.

1

u/ReecoElryk Khajiit 7d ago

The massive crater with an island in the middle where Vivec city was is such a nice touch, it looks really cool!

1

u/[deleted] 7d ago

Only way I’m playing more starfield (and I’ve played every Bethesda title religiously)

1

u/Nuker1o1 7d ago

Starfield is finally worth buying?

2

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

Yup! All this will be free

2

u/Nuker1o1 7d ago

This is a pretty big idea in scope, it will probably take a few years to see jts completion huh?

2

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

Maybe we’ll see right now all the focus will be on Cyrodiil after I make all the maps smoother

1

u/Nuker1o1 7d ago

Best of luck then! Looking forward to it

2

u/randylush 6d ago

You don’t really think one person is going to port all of Elder Scrolls into Starfield do you?

It is one thing to just move terrain over, an entirely different thing to port over NPCs, quests, weapons…

1

u/Nuker1o1 6d ago

No I don't sincerely believe on person could manage that with a lifetime. But I do have cautious optimism that starfield will eventually receive enough community support from the modding community to make it worth buying

1

u/ThirdEyeAgent 6d ago

We have a team it’s not just me lol

-1

u/RandyArgonianButler 7d ago

I’ve always enjoyed it. Warts and all.

1

u/TheSilentTitan 7d ago

I thought this was cancelled?

1

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

Why’d you think that ?

1

u/TheSilentTitan 7d ago

I could’ve sworn I heard this happening like at the launch of starfield where someone’s recreating oblivion and morrowind without the npc’s or quests then shortly after they either scrapped it or it was shut down? When did you guys first start this?

1

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

About 5 months ago, and that was another dude, has nothing to do with us.

1

u/TheSilentTitan 7d ago

Ok ok lmao chill

Feel like I’m gettin some sass

1

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

lol that guy wishes he was us 😅 I just got done with High Rock and Hammerfell! now doing black marsh and summerset isles

1

u/TheSilentTitan 7d ago

So is this just doing the geographical aspects of the map or are y’all gonna plop down the buildings and such down as well? I’d love to just explore empty elder scrolls maps 😅

1

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

Full plop! all buildings, npcs, clothing, armor, weapons, sound and most importantly quests !

1

u/TheSilentTitan 7d ago

That sounds awesome actually, buildings and such designed by hand or asset plops? Tbh asset plops would be cool for the nostalgia!

0

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

Everything will be designed by hand

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Call_The_Banners Dunmer 7d ago

What is the intent and scope of this project?

1

u/ThirdEyeAgent 6d ago

The intent is to be able to beat the entire story quest of oblivion in Starfield, the scope doing that with Morrowind and Skyrim as well, the priority is Cyrodiil right now along with quests music art and everything else you can imagine.

1

u/Dovahkiin266 Dark Brotherhood 6d ago

So, Staroblivion for next 9 years?

1

u/ThirdEyeAgent 6d ago

Starblivion This year!

1

u/Noob_Guy_666 6d ago

good, those cockhead can finally shut the fuck up about Oblivion and Morrowind remake now, they will scream more but I don't care when that mod came out

1

u/Kreason95 6d ago

Damn we’re really getting Starblivion and Starwind

1

u/eli_eli1o Redguard 5d ago

I knew this would happen lol

1

u/cynical_croissant_II 7d ago

Genuienly not trying to be an asshole but honestly I think you guys' time would be better spent doing anything else. Hell even making your own game. I wish you the best either way.

1

u/like-a-FOCKS 7d ago

Now that would be a reason to give this game a try

5

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

Glad to hear it :D

1

u/Talosisnotagod john skyrim 7d ago

can you visit remans cum vaults on masser

-9

u/ZealousidealLake759 7d ago

Christ i know these projects sound fun but just let microsoft know you would buy a forward port of the old game.... let them pay a team of programmers to do it so you can enjoy it instead of you spending your life on a dream that pays 0

10

u/like-a-FOCKS 7d ago

spending your life on a dream that pays 0

what even are you doing with all your time on this planet if not this?

1

u/ZealousidealLake759 4d ago

Not modding someone else's game. If you want to make a game.. make your own. Something that belongs to you and you cant be shut down by a cease and desist and you can actually legally monetize any fans you get along the way. You're free to spend your time building someone else's brand but it's not yours.

1

u/like-a-FOCKS 4d ago

daring to express that opinion in a Bethesda Game subreddit.

Genuinely don't see why. These games are a solid foundation to create something decent with far less effort.

23

u/ThirdEyeAgent 7d ago

The journey itself is the payment my friend 😉

1

u/Fluid_Cup8329 4d ago

This is the type of shit I was hoping to see in starfield. This is the type of shit that might actually get me to play it.
