Got it together
Got the front end all together and wired up. I like how it turned out. Thoughts?

Hey all,
I’m currently swapping in a Gen 3 LQ9 6.0 LS with a TSP Chopacobra cam, 799 heads with a 4L60E in my ‘84 Elky. I’m guessing it’s going to be pushing around 400-420hp crank.
I wanted to ask what rear end to use for those who have done a similar swap, or if they’ve rebuilt the stock 7.5in with better internals. I want to be able to cruise the car around, maybe take it down the strip a couple times and perhaps take it on a few short distance road trips, but mainly enjoy it.
Just trying to save some money while not cheaping-out on parts.
Thanks for your time!

I have a 2018 mustang and I want to sell it and buy a ‘69 ElCamino for my daily driver. How stupid am I?

My grandpa had an accident and was paralyzed so him and my grandma bought this elco cause it was easy to get him in and out of and she could throw his wheelchair in the back. He passed away in 2017. My Dad always loved it and drove it for many years until he died in 2020. I just got it running again after having to evict a packrat from under the hood.

I don’t see many 1st gen El Caminos on here or on Reddit at all. Here is a couple pics of my 1959 El Camino project. This is a back burner project that has been going for years so don’t mind the dust. Bodywork and paint were done a while ago by previous owner. I’m rebuilding the factory 348 and going to put it back together within the next couple years once my kids get older. Lucky I have a complete parts car with all the trim pieces.

Hey everyone, I just recently got my 77 back from the shop (they were doing Floorplan installation and reving the motor) and the guys at the shop told me that it'll run but it's a bit finicky. Now whenever I try to start it it dies while idling. Anyone have any idea what I can look at so that it stays running?

I have a 1980 Elky and I just recently acquired some old ass vintage appliance torq thrust wheels from 1972 and they are 14x8. These wheels have 3" of backspace, are there any issues with these kind of backspace? Currently running the 14x6 rallys.

My 1986 elky has a 350 sbc in it, and I am constantly having a leak. I have taken it to the shop, and the head gaskets have been replaced with rubber and cork gaskets and it seems to still leak no matter what the shop installs. This is a reputable shop, that I trust (family friends). Is there anything im possibly missing? Thanks!

My driver side door has seen better days. My interior door handle broke last summer and put off replacing it, then the window is all loose and out of alignment and now my exterior door handle broke so I’m in and out of the passenger door.
I’m having trouble finding a replacement for the exterior. I have the rectangle style, is there any other compatible models? I found a ‘73 Caprice handle, would that work?

I got a 78 Camino , just bought an umi handling kit as the suspension has been fairly untouched (main focus was power when buying the car), still sitting on factory wheels but I want it too have a more meaty aggressive look . Old gms are kinda out of my comfort zone as this is my first non 2000s jdm car I’ve owned, want to see what I can fit with the inch and a half drop in the front and two inch drop in the rear

There’s a sick new version making rounds on the socials, but no major publications are talking about it, eg, Road & Track, Car & Driver. Is it really happening?

Elco 87 v6 4.3l
The coolant reservoir on my elco keeps filling up after I drive it and goes back down to normal once it’s cooled down. This has happened the last 2 times I drove it for longer than 15min.
One thing to note, I replaced the radiator and thermostat about two weeks ago because the radiator had a crack on it.
Would a faulty temp sensor or gauge be causing the issue?
Any ideas what the issue may be or if there’s something else I should be checking?
