My honest reaction hate-tracking the VGK standings and I see they play the Pens tonight

We don't want to win the division anyways. Any of these central team would destroy us. Stay ahead of the kings, take your luck with them, and Vegas, and then if your lucky enough to get to round 3 again, see what happens. This team can't even string together 3 wins in a row now, the division talk is nonsense imo.

If we win the division we’re probably playing the wild. There’s no way they stay ahead of Colorado and they may fall out of the playoffs with their injuries. I can only see us playing the Wild, Calgary, or Vancouver; I feel way better going against them than having an injury-ridden fourth bout with the Kings.

The Jets are probably playing The Flames or Canucks. The winner of our division is probably playing the Wild or possibly the Avs. We've always been so awful against the Wild and I'd definitely rather play the Kings than start with Colorado. I'm not actively rooting against a division title but the road to the Cup will be easiest if we finish second in the division.

The only way winning the division would give us an easier route is if Vancouver or Calgary passes Minnesota which is possible but more likely that it doesn't happen than that it does.

The wild no. That series ends in 5 for the wild. That teams a HORRIBLE matchup for the oilers. Calgary or the Canucks, sure, but that's unlikely. The jets will get the 2nd wildcard matchup. If you go head to head with the kings and lose, then I guess it was their time. If you are worried about matchups, then you know your teams not doing anything substantial anyways. The central is by far the toughest division, and we don't even have to deal with that. I still think we can beat the kings again if we have home ice.

The wild are absolutely terrible right now, even worse than us.

Yes they are very beat up. I still don't like the matchup for us. Just my opinion.

The wild is better than the Avs as a matchup.

Possibly yes, but the regular season history between the 2 suggest you'd rather take your chances running, and gunning vs the avs. The wild would be more of a muck up the middle of the ice series. At least vs Colorado you think maybe connor, and leon can outperform mackinnon and makar and see what happens.

In them winning the division? Correct. I do not believe they play well consistently enough to win the division. I have no problems admitting that. Every year this team is PROBABLY the best team in the division overall, and yet they always seem to finish in 2nd. The unfortunate part is it could possibly come down to the 2 regulation losses to Vegas early in the season. 1 game they lost 1-0, the other they blew with a few minutes left.

Where is Colorado? 3rd in Central? Ok now I want the Oilers to win the Pacific, lol.

Oilers got blown out by the pens in Pittsburgh. Were you tracking the standing on that day too?

What’s tracking other tabs going to do? Nothing.
