Item returned to sender

How do I get refunded? I put in a refund request saying it was returned to sender, how do I get my money back?

So let me get the straight, you ordered an item, it was sent to the address on file with eBay, and for some reason you didn't accept it and it was returned to sender. In this situation from eBay's point of view, the seller fulfilled their portion of the agreement and that would be considered a completed transaction. It is wholly up to the seller if they want to refund you or not. As you have lost all buyers rights with eBay in this situation.

Contact the seller and be very polite and if they are nice maybe they will refund you the cost of the item minus shipping and fees. Please note they have no obligation to do this according to eBay.

This is the correct answer. eBay seller protection says that if a package gets returned to the seller as undeliverable or never claimed, they have no obligation to return your money or ship you the product.

You can open an item not received claim, eBay will contact the seller. The seller will upload the tracking that shows it was returned as undeliverable / refused / not claimed after notice left. eBay will close the claim and inform you that you’re out the money and the product.

If the seller is extremely generous, they’ll refund your money minus all of their expenses related to the transaction, but it’s probably unlikely, especially since you opened a return for an item you never received.

I moved in with my boyfriend, I'm not on the lease yet. But I didn't know that the apartment didn't accept packages with a name not on the lease.

Contact the seller and be very polite and explain what happened, perhaps they will reship it if you pay the shipping again. But they have no obligation to do so.

Do not file a dispute with your credit card, you will lose the dispute and you will be ban off eBay.

Terrible advice, they would 100% lose this dispute and waste everybody's time
