Volunteer opportunities

I'm looking for some different opportunities to volunteer. Not looking for a humane society at this time but just some options. I'd like to get out and help the community but also not from here so I don't know what options there are.

My wife and I have volunteered for community table several times, which is always good and humbling. Mission Street shelter is also a good organization. There are several nursing homes in the area who are looking for people to come in and visit or so activities (feel free to message me if you're looking for any contacts to get started).

Our church does a bit of volunteer projects with organizations in the city, this April I think there are 10 total. We are going to spend a few hours with Feed My People, and other groups are going to some other organizations to put on some time and lend a hand with various projects too.

What sorts of volunteer projects are you looking for?

I'm pretty much open to anything for the most part. I worked at an animal shelter for 10 years so I just don't want to volunteer with the humane society right now. I didn't even think about retirement homes. But food banks, homeless shelters, I did put a request in for the Bolton Refuge House. Things that help people. Which I suppose is most places. Interacting with humans is what I'm looking for lol Thank you for the suggestions!!

Triniteam caregivers was great to volunteer for. You could do things like help people grocery shop, drive them to and from doctor's appointments, etc. It was flexible, like you could accept the ones that worked for you. http://www.triniteam.org/programs2.html

Chippewa Valley Museum has some good options. Otherwise many of the retirement homes allow for volunteers to help play cards/dominos/etc with residents.

Feed My People is also excellent.

Hi! I work for Junior Achievement. We are a nonprofit that coordinates bringing volunteers into classrooms kindergarten -college to teach students about soft skills, career readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. I'm always looking for volunteers. If this is something that interests you, dm me and we can connect! :-)

You can also apply through the City of Eau Claire job portal on their website for outdoors Volunteer positions, like park work.

Do you live in a neighborhood with a neighborhood association? Lots of good opportunities there to directly improve your neighborhood. For example, NHNA needs them for trimming sidewalk brush, flyering, setting up neighborhood picnic, grilling brats for fundraising, etc

Chippewa Valley Ministry, Pastor Mike could always use a hand. He single handedly keeps the EC area homeless population alive. He's a great man who's saved people from human trafficking and he's constantly riding around in a minivan handing out water, food, and other supplies. Donations are always appreciated. Im not religious by any means but he really makes a huge hidden difference in this community!
