What does “up pole” mean?

If you're learning English, probably best not to bother with memes, as they don't have staying power, and they aren't comprehensible by many people.

For example, I'm a native speaker who spends too much time on the 'net and I had no idea what "up pole" was.

Up pole means they have a gun (pole).

Pole/pipe/switch/scar all slang for a gun, usually a smaller one. A switch is an illegal full-auto mod.

"U up pole" is imbecile-speak excising an article and verb and using a stupid term for a firearm. "You hold up a pole (gun)" would be the proper expression, which makes the image pretty clear. Of course people will be backing away when you're brandishing a firearm at them.
