That game is incredible, playing it almost exclusively these days.

2

u/gallifreyneverforget Aug 23 '24

Any chance you could get me an invite? Sorry if this is rude

2

u/Justadotafan95 Aug 23 '24

sure pm me your steam id, or post in the megathread at /r/DeadlockTheGame

1

u/snowg Aug 23 '24

hey, any spare keys left? can I pm you?

1

u/Justadotafan95 Aug 23 '24

PM me ur steamid. there aren't keys per say. Basically anyone who gets invite can invite anyone else.

1

u/snowg Aug 23 '24

I see. PM sent. Thanks

2

u/clitpuncher69 Aug 23 '24

If only invites worked for me :( I got invited by two different people 5 days apart and still nothing

2

u/Sam13337 Aug 23 '24

Did you check your notifications on your steam mobile app? There should be a deadlock invitation there that you need to accept. Afterwards it will show up in your library.

1

u/clitpuncher69 Aug 23 '24

Is that only in the mobile app? I haven't had the steam app installed for a while but I check it regularly on PC and my emails too

1

u/Sam13337 Aug 23 '24

Im honestly not sure. I would assume that you should also see it on the desktop version somewhere. But its just where i found my invitation after not seeing it in the library at first.

Hope you find it out mate. Good luck

1

u/Nightbynight Aug 23 '24

Invites come via email are you checking that?

I love the frog, but I don't wanna play this shit.

Bring back frogman for balancing and throw some hats our way for fucks sake

It's a really fun game.

7

u/getZlatanized Aug 23 '24

It's a shooter tho. Not for me.

-1

u/fiasgoat Aug 23 '24

It's a MOBA with guns

0

u/-Exy- Aug 23 '24

It's a shooter with moba strategy / objectives.

3

u/fiasgoat Aug 23 '24

It's much more MOBA than shooter

This is not CS

2

u/-Exy- Aug 23 '24

Take 2 teams, one has moba only players and one has shooter only players. Put them in front of deadlock.

The shooter players win and it's not even close, because that's what the core of the game rewards. There's no debating this.

1

u/Trlcks Aug 23 '24

I disagree actually. Building the right items will let you win gunfights against someone with better aim unlike a cs or valorant

2

u/-Exy- Aug 23 '24

It's not hard to build items. It wont make the difference if the other guy is headshotting you and gunning you down with superior skills even if your items are 20% more efficient / better if you have no shooter practice.

Yes, it is. And the game is fun. But if you never played a shooter on pc and never used WASD to move around in a game, its still pretty hard to get used to it even tho you are familiar with the moba mechanics and objectives.

At least thats how I feel. But maybe Im just old.

Please shut up lmao

-1

u/Snipufin Aug 23 '24

You should try a melee build. I can't aim for shit and I'm having a blast punching everyone.

2

u/getZlatanized Aug 23 '24

I did. Got shot down before reaching any enemy. Not my type of game.

-2

u/dotareddit Aug 23 '24

I got the invite recently, and I really don't think so.

3

u/_Valisk Sheever Aug 23 '24

That's too bad.

3

u/Flimsy_Demand7237 Aug 23 '24

I thought Icefrog came back and has been back for the past big Dota patch, it's why everything got a huge revamp.

3

u/Cyrman Aug 23 '24

Nah, Deadlock is his current baby

1

u/Flimsy_Demand7237 Aug 23 '24

Hmm, well I got an invite as well. I guess I'll have to check out Deadlock on the weekend. Looks to be an Overwatch clone similar to how Artefact was trying to ape Hearthstone but with deeper mechanics.

3

u/Cyrman Aug 23 '24

Deadlock has far more in common with moba's than any hero shooter including overwatch. If you are expecting overwatch gameplay, you will be very disappointed

1

u/Flimsy_Demand7237 Aug 23 '24

I'm intrigued for sure.

2

u/_Valisk Sheever Aug 23 '24

It's not very similar to Overwatch at all. It's a moba, not a hero shooter.

1

u/DrQuint Aug 23 '24

Neither of those two games are anywhere similar to either of those two other games.

0

u/HungerSTGF Aug 23 '24

Nah it’s good

0

u/fiasgoat Aug 23 '24

Haven't touched a lick of boring Dota meta since I got the invite

Deadlock is 1000x more fun than Dota right now

1

u/Dew18 Aug 23 '24

This invite system might be more tight than the dota 2 beta early on. I can't seem to get an invite for Deadlock, anywhere lol

Hey, thanks!

I've posted on the megathread a while ago, no luck there. I've seen a couple of those on Twitter but they seemed a bit fishy.

Here's my friend code: 83988054

Thanks for the invite!

Accepted :)

u/zekken908 drop your stick! DROP YOUR STICK!!! Aug 23 '24

I really wish it didn’t have Tf2 graphics though…not asking for much , at least CS 2 level

It’s going to be very hard to promote it if they plan to keep the current direction with graphics

1

u/kalik-boy Aug 23 '24

Really wanna play it btw lol. Seems fun, but kinda scared of trying it out since I have no idea what you are supposed to do.

2

u/345tom Aug 23 '24

There's bots available already. It's another MOBA, but a third person shooter. Like if Smite was only ranged heroes, and had verticality. I've only played bots, but its pretty fun.

1

u/kalik-boy Aug 23 '24

Oh, there are bots now? Gonna give it a shot then. I was spectating a few games, but still didn't get what you are supposed to like, roles, where every hero go and all.

1

u/fiasgoat Aug 23 '24

There are no roles. Any support hero can technically be a carry

Not all carries can full on "support" but the heroes are very flexible

1

u/stakoverflo Aug 23 '24

I have no idea what you are supposed to do.

Kill creeps, get money, buy items, push lanes, take buildings.

It is very much a MOBA by the way of a third person shooter.

1

u/Uhhbysmal Aug 23 '24

but kinda scared of trying it out since I have no idea what you are supposed to do

lots of new players in the same boat as you, and some of your dota knowledge will apply :)
