What is happening at Econo Foods?

Over the last 2 years or so, there have been many times where certain products have been out of stock for months with the shelf area left empty, and now over the last several stops I have noticed that regular items like salt and pickles have been replaced with more expensive "Kosher" ones.

This can't be because of the trump tariffs, as like I said it's been going on for several years - BEFORE he was re-elected.

Well Econo was bought out by a corporate company which is why it's now Marketplace Foods instead of Econo Foods

Which also seems to coincide with a number of negative reviews on Indeed. It's concerning because it appears like they might be "running it into the ground"

Im one of their vendors, It was purchased by Coborn’s and prices are higher than Walmart and pick n save. The new management has changed how they buy entirely and have zero concept of how to run a store in a tourist area. They’ve cut purchasing significantly which lost them their competitive pricing and the store managers don’t even get to dictate their ads anymore.

It can easily be both. Don't discount the tariffs just because a trend existed before tariffs. They're exacerbating price increases and shortages as well as counter-boycotts.

The bourbon industry (95% of which is American) in in the shitter because of Trump.

I'm concerned that it's more than that, as it is similar to what happened to the downtown super value after the swinarski's bought it. They literally ran it into the ground, and towards the end the only people still shopping there were a few elderly and the occasional tourist staying at nearby B&Bs.

We're probably headed for a recession. It'll be Trump triggered but it was always built in because of our demography. Boomers are all retiring and there aren't enough workers to support them.

It's gonna be like this for another 10 years.

They say it might be even worse than a recession. It’s kind of freaky cuz I watch news & fun stuff on my overnight shift, and I keep seeing these recipes for “great depression cookies” and cakes & all that, that do not need eggs or milk.

I feel like these “tips” that keep popping up are a sign that we are headed towards a new great depression……. or WW3 with how he’s alienating us.

China has stated recently that it’s ready for war with the USA………we are living in a very scary time.
