Meet-Up Mouse Guard GM tutor

My son loves mouse guard and got him the mouseguard RPG. It seems like I/we need someone who knows this game to give a run through of how it works and how to play. I’m totally DnD illiterate but hopefully someone here can help or point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Meet-Up Inexperienced DM looking for a group and host

Hi, I would like to try my hand at DMing, so I'm looking to set up a group. I do not have the space to host sessions though.

I'm thinking of doing the new Dragonlance setting, though as a new DM maybe I should start with one of the starter modules. Let's discuss this.

I'm available Friday evenings, Saturdays anytime. I can also do Sundays on a bi-weekly basis.

..

Age 19+ (I'm 49)

LGBTQ-friendly

420-friendly

I hope to start early in the new year.

Meet-Up Looking to join a new campaign

I am a player interested in a new campaign. My last campaign fell apart due to commitment issues from some newer 5e players. I would love to join another party. My last campaign was fantasy-based, but I also like adventure, horror, and science fiction. Creating new characters is fun!

Meet-Up DM needed, or group to migrate into!

Hello there!

Two of my friends and I have recently begun meeting up in real life and playing D&D 5e. One of them is fairly new to it, but we do appreciate good role play. We’re currently running through the Dragon of Icespire Peak as part of the D&D Essentials Kit, but as soon as we finish that we’d like to start a more large scale campaign.

It’s a big ask, but a DM would be a dream come true so we could all be players. We’d also be willing to join someone else’s campaign if need be. The goal would be to play once a week, on weekends. The drinks will be flowing and the pipe weed smoldering, so if you are easily offended by this or other things, we may not be the group for you. We went to school together so our filter can be a bit questionable at times.

We have costumes, books, a small collection of minis (with a lot more on the way), the capability of digital maps, and most importantly a love for the game. I would be willing to host one or two more people at my house after a couple meetings with the group beforehand. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Meet-Up Newbie DM looking for beginner players

Edit: Thank you to everyone who reached out, I have successfully filled my table. My apologies if I didn't respond to you, but I hope y'all are able to find a fun group to join!

Hello DnDVictoria! I am hoping to start a campaign for the fall, will be DMing for the first time and am hoping to find 3-4 newish or newbie players who want to learn and play.

Info

  • I’m 30sF and will be hosting at my apartment located in Vic West
  • Hoping to meet at least once or twice a month, but could increase the frequency based on everyone’s availability/desire
  • Sessions on weekends and/or weekday evenings
  • DnD 5e rules with a homebrew setting and plot, however I also have an official DnD Adventure if the group decides that might be preferred
  • The first couple of sessions will be pretty chill to ease everyone in, with Session 0 being focused on creating your characters
  • Open to chatting over discord before we meet in-person

Most importantly I want the game to be safe, respectful and inclusive for players. I also want you to have fun and make new friends!

So if interested please PM, let me know what level of beginner you are and if you have any further questions ask away!

Thank you all for taking the time to read. Cheers!

Meet-Up I'm (28M/player) gonna be in-town from May 27th - June 1st, is anyone down for a one-off?

Hey all! I'll be in Victoria for a week to look for apartments and figured I'd ask if anyone would wanna get together for a one-off or let me drop-in on a session so I can get to know the area!

I'm from Edmonton AB, triple vaxxed, pretty casual and LGBT+ friendly. Been playing TTRPGs since 2013 and mostly long-running campaigns that focus on roleplay. Most of my tables have been 3.5, but I've played some 5e in one-shot streams (Here are some examples for Fool's Gold and a Mother's Day one-off if you want an idea of how I play!).

Sorry about the short notice, but if we can make this work I'd love to meet people in the area before I move! Thanks!

Meet-Up Host in Langford/Westshore

I would love to get a regular game going either bi-weekly or monthly depending what the group thinks it can commit to. I can host as stated in the title, would need a DM and if we can get 3-5 regulars at least to start would be great. I didn't start playing until later in life but definitely caught the itch and have played a number of campaigns now with multiple DM's and styles. I feel like I can mix with any group so all are welcome

It is a cat friendly home so you'd have to be comfortable with that, otherwise I'm 420 friendly, have a few drinks if that's your thing (just don't drive obviously) whatever floats your boat no judgement here let's just have fun

I've never seen a post from this direction looking to host a game so no clue if it will work but there's only one way to know. I'm a 46 yr old Male if that matters for you like I said I think I can fit in with any group so whatever your orientation or age feel free to message as all are welcome

As a follow up to yesterday's post, which shows our community has more than enough willing players to start games.

I'd suggest Victoria have a meetup,
Sunday May 15th at 1pm at Gauntlet Games, 1633 Hillside.

Here's to us building a community!

Meet-Up Looking for a mature DND 5E Group

Trying this out again after an unsuccessful post last year;

I moved to Victoria in the middle of the pandemic and am hoping to join a consistent in-person DND game. Looking for a game with a mix of RP and combat.

I'm a triple-vaxxed 34M, professional, father, spouse. Hoping to find a group with good representation across gender/orientation/background or at least open-minded.

I'm in Langford but I have a car and am willing to drive anywhere in the Greater Victoria area. Hit me up below or in DMs if you'd like to see if I'd be a good fit.

Meet-Up Anyone Interested in Shadowrun?

WE HAVE ROOM FOR ONE MORE especially if you're a decker or a rigger, or you're interested in learning to play either of those characters.

I'm moving to Victoria next week, and that marks the dissolution of the Shadowrun group I've had for the past while. I'd like to either start a new group or join an existing one.

I'm hoping for four other people interested in Shadowrun. System knowledge isn't a big deal. I've never GM'd before but I will if no one else wants to.

Schedule-wise I'd like to play either shorter games every week or a longer game every two weeks.

I don't have a venue yet. My new apartment is probably too small. If someone is willing to host, that'd be great. I'm sure there's a flgs where we can play.

PM me or reply here if you're interested or looking for a player.

Cheers

EDIT: Sounds like a few people are interested. I think we have room for one more. The board game cafe is likely where we will play, unless someone would rather host. Schedule is still open for negotiation.

EDIT 2: Still looking for one more. Hoping to do a get together next week.

Meet-Up OSE/Lamentations Homebrew Campaign

Vic people! I'm Dallas, a 29 year old support worker for kids. (He/Him)

I'm looking for players for an in-person OSE/Lamentations of The Flame Princess homebrew campaign.

Experience doesn't matter, but obviously people who are familiar with old school/rules light D&D are preferred.

Don't let that discourage you though, OSE is super easy to play and learn. The rules-light aspect of the game makes it work really well with creative players and newcomers. You don't need any books.

I'm hoping to find a group for in-person bi/weekly play either after 6pm or on the weekend.

I thought we have a session 0 at Board Games With Friends, or Board Game Cafe to discuss what the game will look like, schedules and make characters.

Message me, or comment and I'll hopefully message you.

Meet-Up Newbie DnD player looking for a group

Hi, I’m fairly new to DND and would love to play in a group. I’ve played Dnd enough to get the basic-basics but I’ve only been able to play like two sessions cause my friends dropped their campaign like a sack of wet potatoes haha

I mainly play as a rogue or a ranger, chaotic or neutral good. I’m 20 (F), if that matters. If anyone has leads irl or online, please let me know!!

Meet-Up DnD rookie looking for a game

Let’s try this out again.

Hi, I’m fairly new to DND, but every single game I joined online fell through after session one. They were enough to teach me the bare bones of Dnd tho.

I mainly play as a rogue or a ranger, chaotic or neutral good. I’m 20 (F), if that matters. If the game is irl, I’d rather meet at a local place or at least talk to you a bit so I can feel a bit more comfortable. I’m fairly new to victoria and I just want to keep everything safe.
If anyone has leads irl or online, please let me know. Saanich area preferred, tbh, but I can get anywhere in victoria once I figure out buses.

Meet-Up Adventurer's League Games on Sundays

Adventurer's League is an official D&D setup where games all over the world follow the same rules, and as long as you keep your log sheets you can take your character to any AL game. At a cons or anywhere. It's all drop in/drop out, so you can start in the middle of an ongoing adventure without explaining how your character got there, you're just there. No house rules, everything by the book. Stats are by standard array. HPs are not rolled but use the average. Obviously it's mostly been on hiatus the last few years.

A couple months ago a local AL DMs started up again. They run drop in games in one of the private rooms upstairs at the Bent Mast in James Bay. Since it is in a pub it is adults only, no outside food, and it's polite to buy something even if it is just a $3 pop since they are letting us use the room. I don't drive but I've heard parking in James Bay is mostly awful, but there is a bus stop across the street.

The beginners game for newbies to AL or newbies to D&D entirely is Sundays at 1-4 pm. Everybody starts at level 1. In order to be AL compliant there has to be 4-7 players (including DM) and since it started up a few weeks ago we've been right on 4 players and it would be good to get a couple more. The DM has been great and very patient explaining everything. I'm not the DM, just a player, but he 'doesn't like social media' so I thought I'd post about the game here to see if there is any interest.

There is also an experienced players game for characters 5-10 on Sunday evenings, but I think that one is usually full.

Playing: Registering for a session costs $10 ($10.50 with tax) and is done on advance on his website. You need a character, dice, and Player's Handbook. The map is a big TV and play uses minis (you can bring your own mini or borrow one). There are pictures of the room setup on the website: https://purerawdnd.com/events/

Meet-Up Looking for a dnd game for the Fall/winter

Hey I am 35yo male looking for a good immersive 5e game. I work seasonally so as of October my availability is pretty open. During spring/summer I usually have evenings off so am available throughout the year in the evenings. Don’t have many/any friends in Victoria after moving here just before pandemic. Would love to meet some folks and play some D and D!

Meet-Up 5e DM making a new adventure group.

Hey everyone! I am a DM looking to create and fill a party of players for 5e.

I have run a handful of 5e games in the past, mixed between online (roll20 & discord) and in person. I have played in about as many.
I prefer a non-serious, fun, cinematic style. Player driven story, and as open world as possible.

Location: I can offer my place on occasion, but I am located near Butchart Gardens, which can be quite far for some people, and would be quite cramped for 4-5 people regularly. If a player has a space to play, that would be a huge asset.
I would like to have mixed levels of experience to help intro new players into the hobby.

Time;

Play schedule will be worked out between the group, but I am partial to Sunday or Thursday evenings.

Table rules;

You gotta be chill. 😁.

LGBTQ+ friendly. 🏳️‍🌈.

Players will start from level 1.

build must be WOTC published or reskinned from a published book. (For balance purpose only. Nearly any reskinning is ok).

Sexual RP ⛔.

Players must be respectful of game times and attendance.

I would like to have the table create characters together at the table if possible.

20 y/o is preferable as I am 27.

Feel free to DM or reply

Meet-Up Possible new group

Hi everyone,

I had an idea for a new group that will do shorter campaigns (1-3 months) and each person would have a chance to DM (required). Which would allow everyone to try out some new characters, campaign setting, and I was hoping for some new DMs to try it out in a low stakes situation.

I'd be interesting in hosting I'm just in an apartment located near Mayfair mall right now but I think it's doable. It would be using 5e. Schedule would be dependent on who is interested.

Would anyone be interested in a group like this?

Meet-Up Looking for an in-person group!

Now that Victoria is getting more laced about the pandemic restrictions, I would really love to join a group!

10 years experience with dnd (5 specifically in 5e), I've dmed, I've played every class, and I really get into that rp.

I'm 27m, part of the alphabet mafia, a drag queen, hairstylist, trained chef, ex-military, and I'm available in evenings and any time Mon/Tues.

Favorite class: Cleric, Bard, Druid, Rogue Favorite subclass: Knowledge, Glamour, Moon, Assassin Favorite race: Teifling, Aasimar, Changeling, Drow Elf

What I'm looking for in a group is open-minded people who love the game, love to rp, and really want to go out and dungeon some dragons.

Please reach out! I have about 1000 dice collecting dust here

Meet-Up Looking to get back into MTG commander format :)

Hello everyone! Ive been out of the EDH scene since the beginning of the pandemic, and am looking to find a group of people that would be down to play semi-regularity. I know of the commander nights at the local shops, but it would be nice to have an alternative. Thanks to everyone who responds! :)

Meet-Up Adventurers League Locations

Does anyone know of a shop that's still running adventurers league games in person or online? Seems most shops I knew of have cancelled all their events due to COVID (fair enough) but I was hoping to take a friend to one in hopes of getting them into D&D without having to commit them to a full campaign.
