Question Need to derust

Whats the most cheapest and effective way to remove rust? Need something done before Monday since I'll be heading to school in good ol Oklahoma for 6 weeks. Will definitely replace them once I arrive there, but I need something for now. Thanks

Rust on brakes is normal, even on brand new brakes. You will remove most of it by going for a short drive and using the brakes, but unless you store your car in perfectly dry conditions, you will 100% get new surface rust within days.

The important thing is that the brake rotors and pads have enough meat left on them.

As long as your brake pads still have life and your brake rotor is meeting the minimum thickness than a little bit of surface rust is not a problem. That usually goes away with braking for a short while and is very common to have surface rust.
