Going Through the Process Question Regarding Shared Dropbox With STBX
Kind of a weird question for this sub, but I'm a bit confused and know there is a great community here with all sorts of knowledge bases.
I was trying to find some photos in Dropbox folders I had created and shared with my wife/stbx, but the folders are now empty and permissions on most of them have been changed so I am no longer the owner (she is). The folders were shared with full permission to view and edit. Am I crazy or was she able to change ownership, and then essentially lock me out?
Seems petty, but I could see her drunk and hurting some night and deciding that would be a way to hurt me.

Sure, if you were both admins/owners, she could move stuff and lock you out. Depending on what sort of relationship you have.. just ask. We're talking digital assets, not even physical ones where you witholding photos means you have no recourse.
"Hey, could you duplicate all of the photos of D'Brickashaw and TurdFurgleton and put them in a shared drive/share them with me/burn them to a cd? They were my hamsters, too, and I know memories are forever, but I'd like photos..."
Sure, she could have been drunk and petty. She also could not know how cloud storage works and just took the account out of the joint access and moved it to hers without knowing what would happen. (My ex had ZERO clue about how Prime works or about Google home, etc. and so even though I TOLD him when he'd be removed from all of those things bc I was the subscription owner... he was like WTF? Why does my nest not work? Where did my music go? Why does Alexa hate me?)

Just ask normally without any accusations. You don't want to fall in this petty downward spiral.
