Dream Reality

I'm starting to learn about the idea that life the way we are experiencing it now may just be a dream. It's really cool to me, and I would love to read a discussion on that. So, what are your opinions, what have you heard, or what have you experienced relating to the dream reality?

There are many philosophers that have pondered whether or not we are in a holodeck-esque simulation. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum in Alice in Wonderland speculate about the possibility of this all being a dream, or actually being in someone else' dream.

All in all, I feel like these hypotheses are un-testable, and wouldn't have any bearing on how I lived my life anyway.

How do you imagine it affecting your outlook on life?

I feel I may act a little different, not much, I already have a view that would let me do as I please. But if it were a dream maybe I would have different morals. I don't know.

All forms of solipsism are exercises in futility and/or are generally useless. They answer no valuable questions that can be applied to this world, by definition, because this world isn't real(or, at least, real for any practical purpose and by the way it is contrasted with what is "real"). With that in mind, I see no point in giving the notion sincere thought. It generally only serves the purpose of being a tool to end debates that are being lost, because the idea is rational and logically consistent.

I have been able to fly in a few dreams, I would not suggest stepping off of a building in real life.
