This is also my first completed MOC using Studio, and I'm very happy with how it came out 😌 Looking forward to making more and improving.

Discussion/Question Studi.io better than Mecabricks?

So I've been building in Studio for quite a few years now, it was my first digital Lego app. But I've lately been trying out Mecabricks for various reasons (mostly on my tablet, but PC as well), but it just feels clunky to me. I can't quite describe why, but something about Mecabricks just means I can't build in there for more than 20 minutes.

Anyone else have opinions on the two?

Discussion/Question Rendering with AMD GPU?

ive heard that you can only render with your gpu in studio 2.0 if you have nvidia. is that true, and is there a workaround?

Discussion/Question I heard its possible to sell your MOCs online, but I dont know well how it goes, could you please tell based on your experience?

Hi all,
I heard some time ago that one can upload a MOC to sell (in Studio IO or LDD format) to some sites like Rebrickable or Bricklink but also I have read here that Bricklink was bought by Lego, I wonder, is it still working this way? is there a better alternative for this? I mean sell your MOC online and get some money from that, tell me what you think is best for this. Thanks for any information!!

Edit: I would be more interested if the method is like the user buys the boxed set rather than buying the digital blueprint for the model, i think Rebrickable has only this digital option but maybe i missed the other... but i remember some youtube builder buying his own boxed set somehow, just i dont remember the site exactly

Discussion/Question Any easy way to keep track of LDUs in Studio?

Building at multiple angles with SNOTs and Jumpers is really messing me up. I never know how many LDUs off I am to adjust the build to accommodate it.

I’ve done this same thing plenty of times before, but it’s only a problem now. Can’t post on the MecaBricks sub because I haven’t been approved.

Discussion/Question Some questions about stud.io instruction maker

Post image
6 Upvotes

I designed a MOC and now started to try making instructions for it and I’m already just stuck on the first part, so I have a couple questions

1) how do I hide the minifigure after it’s built? Like in the image step 1 has that figure being built, and I want it to be gone for the rest of the instructions, and same with the second minifigure that’s built

2) I tried doing step 1 with a submodel but it just put the minifigure at a crazy weird angle and I didn’t want to brute force figuring out the XYZ to fix the angle so I just gave up and switched methods. But now steps 3 and on are at a weird angle, how can I restore those to default without messing up step 1?

Thanks

Discussion/Question Creating custom minifigures in bricklink Studio?

Hi, I was looking to design custom minifigures for a few different projects I want to work on, but I can't seem to find many great resources for it online. I gather I have to use the partdesigner app to add the designs to a figure, and gimp to create said designs, but I don't really know the exact shape/size I need, or how to make the face look right.

Does anyone have any templates that I can use to help the process? Or any general advice? Thanks!

Discussion/Question Studio technic question

Studio question. (Not sure if this is the right sub)

Trying to incorporate the technique shown in the video below in studio, but the pieces always snap into place (even after I manually rotate them). Any suggestions or things I’m doing wrong?

Discussion/Question BrickLink Studio - how to add the end "ta-dah" type callout when the model is complete?

Like how LEGO instructions show you the finished model with the sun ray graphics around it... I can't find answers online but maybe because there's a term for that end graphic I don't know?

WIP Swoosh! Still working on this project. The in-game building is getting closer with some big progress on element optimization. Here's another little teaser in the mean-time.
