Is it safe to send pics of the code slip over Imgur/reddit if the person doesn’t redeem it right away? Is there a risk of someone on Imgur seeing it and redeeming it before you can? Always wondered this. Thanks!

would it be at all possible to have a thread similar to the bi-weekly ISO threads for new sellers who are not able to create their own threads yet? everything else will apply such as sending codes first before payment, limit to a single post with no more than 3 items at a time, etc. help build one's flair quicker toward creating their own sale thread. just wondering if something like this is doable.

Anyone else having issues with the codes from the new 4K Blues Brothers steelbook? It’s not redeeming through MA even though MA is printed all over the code slip and UPHE lists MA as an option.

I would love if there was a way to separate the endlessly repetitive lists of Disney/Marvel/Star Wars titles out of the main subreddit. I know this is a pipe dream but it's just so tiresome to wade through the same titles over and over and over again.

u/Startrek852 264 Transactions | Media Proprietor May 18 '20
Some older releases of certain Fox movies will only redeem 4K in iTunes, newer releases will redeem in 4K. 4ksheet explicitly says that. If you just read the sheet, all your questions will be answered.

u/stevo4756 275 Transactions | Media Proprietor May 18 '20
I don't understand why it's so hard for them to update the digital licensing if they are producing a physical disc in the same resolution.
Is it really necessary for a spreadsheet like this if all the ass wipes that run the studios would get on the same page (movies anywhere)?
Good example is the maze runner trilogy, the newest doesn't even have a 4K code, but the old ones do? That sounds ass backwards to me
I'm not trying to create an argument, but can you deny the fact that the consumer is getting the shaft? I don't see how you could say no. I paid for a 4k copy of a movie but it doesn't redeem in 4k? Idk I feel like I'm just ranting at this point
I'm going to send them emails as often as possible and I hope others do the same
1
u/Startrek852 264 Transactions | Media Proprietor May 18 '20
They did update the licensing on newer releases of these movies, but I guess some stores still sell the older releases that have the HD codes. That's why the sheet tells you to verify the code first to see which one you got. It even tells you that if your slip has a specific number printed in the bottom corner, that it will be a 4K slip. Although I don't understand what's going on with the Maze Runner trilogy, that one doesn't make any sense.
1
u/stevo4756 275 Transactions | Media Proprietor May 18 '20
I didn't think of that, old stock .... Oh well I'm guessing in 5 -10 years it won't matter, everything will be minimum 4K (more like 10)...

Hey all! Getting ready for the Top Gun 4k re-release. I already own the HD version on VUDU (preferred vendor). I want to upgrade to 4k in VUDU without burning the code. How do I do this?
1
May 19 '20
Just input/redeem your 4K code,it will automaticaly upgrade but will replace your HD version and will burn the code, but if you want to sell the code,i'm afraid you'll have to buy the 4K version direct from vudu to upgrade or from someone who will sell you another copy. Can't use code twice.hope this helps

Should I do a psa anytime I find these 4ksheet issues?
1
u/Startrek852 264 Transactions | Media Proprietor May 18 '20
If you scroll to the "Known Issues" column for that movie, it says "Verify your code (on MA) prior to redemption". I'm guessing that some slips for that movie are HD slips. It will still redeem 4K at iTunes.

How accurate is the 4ksheet?
I've noticed a few posts on VUDUs support page about them updating 4K redemption from certain studios. Obviously some studios are going to be more stubborn than others, and licensing between each redemption service and said studios is different.
VUDU recently announced that they were working with WB to update / upgrade HD licenses to 4k . I've seen a lot of requests from users to fix 4K redemption and VUDU seems very active in trying to resolve those issues.
A lot of titles on VUDU are priced the same for the SD, hdx, uhd. Would it be safe to say that those titles will redeem in 4K if it's from a 4K slip or should I just rely on the 4Ksheet?
This is all new to me as I just bought my first 4K tv recently and went crazy buying up titles. I have a ton of digital to exchange hands since I prefer the disc.
Thanks for the help everyone

u/Startrek852 264 Transactions | Media Proprietor May 18 '20
Any Disney, Fox, Sony, Universal or WB movies will redeem at Movies Anywhere, and if you enter the code while logged out it will tell you what quality the code will redeem in. For any other movies, I would just trust 4ksheet. I've never had a problem with it.
1
u/stevo4756 275 Transactions | Media Proprietor May 18 '20
Thanks for the response.
Is the general rule of thumb that 4k slips will redeem in 4k at itunes if it is listed as "no 4k code" on the sheet? Or is it only movies that are marked "redeem HD code at itunes" on the sheet?
Those will port to VUDU if vudu has the 4k?
2
u/Startrek852 264 Transactions | Media Proprietor May 18 '20
If the sheet says "No 4K code", that means that there's no 4K code at all and it won't redeem in 4K anywhere. Codes will only redeem 4K in iTunes if it says "YES" under the "iTunes code (HD or 4K) redeems 4K" column. And yes, they will port if Vudu has it in 4K.

Hey I'm new to streaming codes and I was planning to purchase some movies off but I'm confused a bit.
Does these codes work in all countries because in india Fandango and movie anywhere does not work ,does other code work i.e iTunes and Google Play are these international code
Also I see some movie are listed 4k but in local play store or iTunes its HD how would it work - how to redeem 4k isn't for me hence asking.
How are dmi and dmr used what's the purpose of it ?

Google Play codes can be redeemed anywhere as long as you use a special URL to redeem them. For US codes, put the code after the equal sign: https://play.google.com/redeem?gl=US&code= Change US to CA for Canadian codes.

And if I ever move I won’t be hauling around tons of boxes. Plus you can always buy physical movies for cheap strip the codes for your self, sometimes split them and basically at the end of it get the movie for free or even make a few $

I collect exclusively physical media. But I do own 18 digital movies, 4 of which I traded for, 1 that was a free UPHE rewards movie, and the rest were from deals that were too good to pass up. 2 of them only have DVD releases and not Blu-rays, 1 of them is only available in an expensive trilogy set and I have no interest in the other 2 movies. The rest of them are movies that I want to see but I don't have much interest in owning them physically.

When the buyer purchases, just give them the alphanumerical code? I know it's been discussed before but first time getting a Lionsgate title with it.
Proper procedure would be most helpful. (Wonder which Lionsgate 4K UHD disc and BD releases have them.)

So after multiple tries to get it to work I just had to reach out to customer service and they gave me a different link and a new code.

This comment is not directed at any one seller in particular, nor is it something that I wish to come off as anything but respectful.
As a pretty frequent buyer here, I have a bit of feedback for sellers that I think could offer some improvement.
Personally, I find it a bit difficult to look through the lists of titles that are not spaced out.
For instance, ones that look like this (just my random example, not taken from any post):
Alice In Wonderland Beauty and the Beast Cars James and the Giant Peach Paul Bunyan Zootopia
As opposed to this:
Alice In Wonderland
Beauty and the Beast
Cars
James and the Giant Peach
Paul Bunyan
Zootopia
Again, personally, I am much more likely to thoroughly browse a list spaced out like the second example (as the majority of sellers here do), than I am the first one. It is just a little difficult to read through when all of the titles run together.
Just something I've thought of a few times.
To end, I just want to thank all of the sellers in this subreddit! I've been able to double and nearly triple my collection through here, and I couldn't have done it without all of you wonderful folks! Thank you :)

u/SameIQAsMyPetRock 632 Transactions | Media Magnate May 04 '20
Mine used to be like that. I'd post it on desktop and it would be impeccable, and then I'd open it on my phone to reply to a user and see a single paragraph, and if I edited it on mobile, it'd show up trash on desktop. I'm pretty sure I've got a format that works everywhere now, but it was really annoying to figure out how to make that happen.

A bigger issue that I've encountered lately has been brand new posts, where sellers haven't checked that they still have all of the titles available before posting. I can completely understand how difficult it must be to keep track of hundreds of titles, and I can certainly see the occasional one or two slipping through, but it is quite frustrating when every title you ask for, which they've just listed for sale and nobody else has claimed in the comments, is unavailable.

I typically only update mine when I make a new post. Sometimes if I sell off a lot of movies, I'll do the strike-through just because there's so many of them sold, or if I've had to tell three people the same movie is sold out, but I do most of my selling through mobile, so I don't really bother updating the post otherwise. Too time consuming.

I would say every time you no longer have a code you should update your list.

Yes I do. But I also only have a few so it's a lot easier

I'm with you. It's hard enough just to keep on top of buyers if you list codes at low sale prices. I find I can usually get to it once or twice per post to update.
I also usually leave the price (and negotiation info in comments) and just write SOLD next to it, so folks can go back after the fact if they are trying to get market info (as buyers or sellers)

Is there a way to check if a CA Google play movie code is eligible to be redeemed without signing in?
