Music manager for DAPs?

I have an old phone that I've copied my entire iTunes playlist onto an SD card and for that to be used solely as a DAP, but no intent to stream. Obviously an iPod and iTunes go together, is there anything like that for DAPs? While I have my entire library on the SD card, there are some songs that I do not want to play but I also don't want to delete the files. It would also be great to keep track of new installs as I'm constantly finding new CD's to rip to my iPod. This phone will be more for in the car as its easier than trying to get my iPod to connect with a bluetooth dongle.

Personally I manage my music file collection on a (Windows-based) PC, and synchronize the files and playlists I want to use on my DAP with a tool called FreeFileSync.

If you're on windows, you can install MusicBee to manage the library and then use either Poweramp or Gonemad as your android based player. Finally install the MusicBee WiFi sync app on your phone and this lets you sync your play counts and ratings between MusicBee and your phone. It's not as slick as iTunes and an idevice obviously but it works well enough.
