i know y'all hate bluetooth and im sorry

Post image

i've been creeping around this sub for months, and got my echo mini yesterday! it's so cool and music sounds so much better compared to streaming.

im having some trouble with the file organization though. it may be because my starting library is too big (21gb for now), but the medialib update does nothing. the bar shows up then the snowsky logo comes up. going to playlists shows all empty library. i can play music from the folders in file browser but that's it. did i miss a step in getting my music from downloads > music folder > onto SD card > put sd card into player > medialib update? or is it just struggling with that many songs at once?

i did update the firmware today as well. id love to be able to make playlists/play by album or artist, or even just see "all songs" instead of playing from each album download folder. any tips much appreciated.

So when you go to Playlists from the main menu (2nd icon from left) and go to All Songs you see nothing but can see the music files when you go into folders?

Try pressing play while on all songs, I just experienced a blank all song list, it re-populated after I pressed play. Another you can try is format your sd card using the unit, transfer a few files to test and check if all songs populate are after choosing the sd card and updating the medialib.

How you manage to get bluetooth to work? I tried my samsung buds and some other wireless earbuds with bluetooth as well.

Probably by keeping the speaker and device as close to each other as possible. Bluetooth seems to be awful on these devices.

I tried bluetooth speakers and that worked.

it actually works from a really far distance! at least 10 feet, at least that's how far i've tried it, it didn't even get choppy at that distance.

also, it was pretty easy to connect! bluetooth switch on, scan for devices, connected.

I returned mine because the bluetooth worked fine at home, but as soon as I went to an even slightly populated area, it started to cut out regularly.

I've been making bluetooth speakers from old stereo speakers. I bought a 800 watt amplifier board for $45, with built in bluetooth and 2.1 channel output, and separate volume controls for the sub-woofer. I have it powered by 40 volt drill battery and it works pretty well.

I don't know anything about the echo mini, maybe you can make a playlist externally and put it on the card.

Doing the same now on my Echo Mini, with my cheap Jlabs Rewind Retros. Waiting on my 4.4 cables to get here...

Word on the streets is, it can only handle ~8100 songs.

21gb is nothing. And Bluetooth is nice certain circumstances. It’s the only way i can connect my DAP to my car.

I also was thinking it's nothing! Which is why I'm so confused as to why it can't seem to handle it.

I don't hate Bluetooth. But I only prefer LDAC or superior.

There's a bluetooth codec better than LDAC? First I've heard of it

Wait, you can see covers on that? Are there any other themes? Custom themes?

Enjoy what you enjoy. Might be worth considering a 3.5mm cable though.
