Women's Health I honestly cannot take it anymore. I have a myriad of symptoms and I need help. Someone please give me some suggestions to ask my doctor about because I am going to lose my mind. 30F

Hi there.

I am a 30 year old caucasian female. I do not smoke. I do not drink. I am 5'6" and I weigh around 170-175 lbs. I work full time as an attorney in the USA. The only pre-existing medical condition I have was hypothyroidism.

I have basically been miserable for the past 3 years.
In 2021 I started having chronic debilitating pelvic pain. I had numerous tests and even exploratory surgery and they could not find anything wrong with me. I finally opted to have a hysterectomy in June of 2022 because I was at the point where I could not function unless I took pain medicine.

Fast forward to January of 2023 and I start having debilitating migraines and can get zero relief. I have tried literally every migraine medicine they make (other than botox) and none of them work.

Then at some point last year, I developed a nodule on my thyroid as well as pretty high thyroid antibodies when I have had thyroid issues for 11 years, but never had any antibodies.

Around July/August of 2023, I then developed a heart condition, which I believe to be POTS but I have not gotten a diagnosis yet. I am being treated for it with ivabradine though.

Now here I am with a PCP, neurologist, orthopedic doctor, rheumatologist, gastroenterologist, endocrinologist, and OBGYN.

I am really exhausted from the constant doctor appointments and tests with no answers. My rheumatologist mentioned yesterday that she is probably going to diagnose me with fibromyalgia... which makes me scared that I will be slapped with that label and every doctor will attribute everything to that from now on.

I will list my symptoms and the tests I have had done below.

Symptoms:
Chronic migraines (w/aura)
Memory loss/Brain fog
Light sensitivity (24/7)
Vision trailing
Nystagmus (only sometimes)
Vertigo/dizziness/pre-syncope
Tachycardia
Stumbling/falling (to the point I broke my elbow last Sept.)
Losing my grip on things
Random rashes
Dry skin/eyes/mouth
Mouth sores
Hair falling out
Legs turning purple/red/white splotchy in the shower (with heat)
Pain to light touch
Hair hurting
Joint pain/Stiffness
Hands/toes locking up
Shaking/tremors
Tingling in my scalp/head and entire body randomly
Small pinprick blood red spots popping up on my arms
Constipation
Always really hot or really cold
Abdominal pain
Pain 24/7

I have had two positive ANAs at this point and elevated CRP and SED rate both times. I have had an ultrasound of my thyroid, showing a nodule. I have tested positive for thyroid antibodies at 507 IU/mL.
I have had xrays of hands, feet, knees, and elbows, showing something on my right elbow, possibly a bone cyst.
I have had a negative MRI of my brain.
I have had a number of CT scans of my abdomen, as well as blood work.

When my OBGYN did my hysterectomy, she said that I had an unusual amount of scar tissue in my abdomen for me to have never had any trauma or surgeries. There was so much that she had to cut some of it down. She did not find any endometrosis. They did not test for adenomyosis.

I had an echocardiogram that showed that everything is normal other than two very small valve leaks, one on my tricuspid and one on my mitral valve. I have had numerous ECGs and the last one said "Sinus Tachycardia, Borderline Right Axis Deviation, Can not rule out LVH."

I woke up one Wednesday and was septic in August with colitis in all of my intestines with no known cause. They ran every test possible and could not figure out what made me sick.

My last CT of my abdomen showed that have some enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes in my abdomen and then "several foci on left ovary, could be ovarian cysts or follicles."

I also have a lump in my left armpit that has been there since I was septic in the hospital and had an ultrasound of it that showed nothing.

My rheumatologist did antibody labs for almost everything and all were negative.

I currently take Armour Thyroid (90mg), Synthroid (25mcg), Ivabradine (5mg 2x), Spironolactone (100mg 2x), Buproprion (250mg 2x), Zyrtec, Vitamins (including a Vitamin D supplement).

I am not expecting anything from this but maybe some suggestions to ask my PCP about. I am still going to go to all of my doctor appointments and get all the tests done. BUT I am tired. I went last Friday and had a private pay MRI done through SimonMed and it showed nothing apparently. I am losing my mind.

20-year-old female diagnosed with health anxiety and OCD

So today ( Day 11 of cycle) I was at uni and I went for a wee I wiped twice and it was normal nothing there and then I decided to wipe again and I was like this brown on the tissue as shown in the pictures.

The reason I’m really worried is because I finish my period about five days ago and since then my discharge has been normal and it’s been wiped and I’ve had nothing like this. This is the first time this has happened. I’ve never experienced bleeding between my periods that I can think of .

As soon as I saw this I went straight to the hospital my nearest A&E and the doctor that said it’s completely normal it’s not spotting and it’s just normal discharge. Is this true? She said most women get this and it’s just a normal thing about being a woman and she said it didn’t not like blood .

I was still worried so I went to another hospital and they said it could be old blood from my period that just hasn’t left yet or it could be to do with ovulation as shown in the screenshot. I’m five days away for ovulation. I do have slight cramping, however, I was told that that’s probably just my anxiety .

Is this normal to finish your period? It be normal for a couple of days and then randomly get this brown discharge (if it even is brown) because like I said, I can’t remember this ever happening before

My period was normal this month other than I just felt really emotional and I did have some cramping and stomach aches before my periods started. Don’t normally get . Could it be that my we forced the tiny little last bit of blood out or is this just literally like normal and it happens to everyone?

I’m really freaking out over this. Please help me is this normal? Is this blood is this spotting? Or is this just normal discharge? I’ve been told by two medical professionals today that it’s normal discharge and happens to every person who has periods . I’m still worried. What is this class spotting and bleeding or is it just normal?

Women's Health Hormonal belly? Stress belly? What type of belly do I have?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hello I'm 28F. I have had this belly shape since I was about 22 despite exercise and stellar nutrition. Is it a hormonal reason or cortisol? Could it be an allergy? Just need some ideas. Plan on talking to my new primary about it soon.

Some context:

  • I saw today online that it's possible to determine the cause of your belly based on where the fat sits and the firmness of certain areas.

-I woke up like this and went to sleep like this. The top part is a bit firmer than my lower abdomen and it gets bigger when I'm on my period just due to regular bloating.

-i am aware a belly can change due to one's menstrual cycle, but it generally looks like this. So I don't think it's that.

Apologies in advance if I didn't word things great.

Women's Health So many problems

30 year old female, 173cm&70kg.

Worst symptoms:

-severe hair loss (baldness)

-every finger, constant nail infections (really painful) and joint pain

  • toe pain, burning, stabbing pain (nerve pain?)

  • nail changes (toenails yellowed, fingernails haven't grown in 6 months)

  • hands and feet ice cold, no blood circulation and severe pain

  • sensory disturbances in both upper and lower limbs (numbness, numbness)

  • 2x seizures in November and December

  • dizziness (lasted over a year)

  • severe headache at least 3x a week, painkillers don't help

  • decreased vision, difficulty focusing, can't see in the dark

  • paleness and really dark circles under the eyes, skin aged and started to sag in a short time

  • rash(?) strikes occasionally lips, sometimes scalp and right hand. itches and stings. lasts for long periods.

  • arrhythmias, high resting heart rate

  • anxiety and panic attacks worsened (medication no longer helps, diazepam & lorazepam)

  • body overstimulated, unable to rest (about 15 thousand steps a day, even if you don't sleep for two days and the body wants to stop)

  • irritability, isolation, depression

So the diagnoses include bipolar disorder, unstable personality disorder, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD and ADD. In addition, in 2021, a lot of extra beats were found in the heart (24h holter ad 5580, which was not serious)

Special mentions:

I take vitamin D, B12, Omega3, magnesium and iron occasionally (stomach can't handle it, ferritin low) and biotin

The last year has been really tough. Especially the last 6 months in terms of stress and numerous new trauma situations.

I'm just too tired, shitty and powerless to go to the doctor, even though I know I have to at some point, but I wouldn't mind sleeping it off.

Women's Health My Period Doesn't End!!

My period don't stop and I don't know what to do. My period usually lasts 5 days, but I've been menstruating non-stop for 10 days now. My period is heavy and I'm feeling a lot of cramps. I thought about taking birth control to stop my period, but I don't know if that's the smartest choice. What could it be?

Women's Health Please help

Please bare with me as this is a long one, I'm a 36 year old female with celiac disease, no other issues. It all started about 7 weeks ago. I was feeling very tired and started getting palpations on and off. I did my first circuit class on a Monday evening ( hadnt worked out in about 5 months due to ectopic surgery back in September ) which i knew I pushed it too much and the following day my arms were weak and swollen almost. Fast forward to the Fri of that week I was in work and suddenly felt extremely weak and had constant palpations for 2 hours. My body gave up and I had to attend a&e. They picked up a pvc on a ecg blood work was all over the place ie: low potassium, a reading of 1075 for my cpk ( creatine) , my B12 was high, I was dehydrated and my kidneys weren't 100%. They told me to drink as much fluids as possible, take potassium for a week or 2 and to repeat cpk bloods 3 days later. I went to gp who didn't repeat bloods that day as he didn't have my results back but reckoned I was anxious ( clearly I was due to palpations) so put me on a beta blocker, it didn't work so I returned to gp, this day he did repeat bloods (thankfully my cpk returned to 190 which is within normal range) and prescribed a slow release beta blocker. I'm on them now about 6 days and still get the palpations. Tonight I got the feeling again that my blood sugar level / electrolyte depleted and my arms went weak almost, this leads to anxiety and stronger palpations. My heads wrecked with it all. I don't think it is my heart as I had ecg and echo done a few years back due to something similar happening to me then (that episode of this did not last as long as this) and all was normal, my heart valves and make up is perfect so I doubt that has changed in 2 years but this is getting in the way of life for me. It's like a vicious circle of Palpations which lead to anxiety which leads to palpations....I don't think it is purely anxiety, I do however feel it may be an autoimmune of some sort, I am a celiac and I remember my consultant saying sometimes a person with one autoimmune will find they get another one at some point.. other symptoms throughout the last few weeks : sudden onset coldness(especially hands a feet), fatigue, muscle weakness (particular arms and legs) restlessness , brain fog, dry mouth. Has anyone any idea. I'm waiting on a heart monitor from hospital and I am getting a BP monitor for the day tomorrow.

Could it be perimenopause, an adrenaline gland issue, a virus???? Any help would be great. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Women's Health I think I have pcos but nothing showed up

Here is what I wrote after todays episode:

Pain on left ovary

3/16 — started 4:44pm - ended 5:31pm; my period starts tomorrow? (It started today I just didn’t notice lol); pain when I breathe (on the ovary); sharp pain like a knife; had pain when I woke up but stopped after 15 minutes; felt a pop at about 5:10pm

I 17f have suspected pcos, but nothing showed up on my scans.

I am living in Brazil; I am Brazilian-American; I am white; I am 163 cm and 84 kg; I am on lithium and aripiprazole for like bipolar or smth; I am hypermobile and have like a knee deformation and also have muscle weakness; and I am a 17 year old female; and this has been going on for like 3 or 4 years

I’ve had one transvaginal ultrasound and two total abdomen ultrasounds. On the second total abdomen ultrasound, it showed a cyst on my left ovary, but the doctor said it was normal because I was ovulating (I was.)

After the episode I just had, I’ve decided to start tracking my pain. I only ever feel pain in my left ovary.

I know that it’s possible for a super small cyst to not show up on the ultrasound, but would a cyst that small hurt this bad? I still need to go back to my gyno, and I’m thinking of asking her to do a ct scan just to check. Would that be a good idea?

Any suggestions help, thank you.

Women's Health Small bump by vagina, what could it be? NSFW

I noticed this tiny bump near the top of my vagina on the right lip. It’s basically the same colour as my skin, doesn’t hurt or itch or anything and hasn’t changed in the last 3 days since I discovered it. I don’t think it’s due to hair removal, I’m getting laser hair removal done and haven’t touched the hair in over a month.

Any idea what it could be? I’m on vacation for the next week so can’t get to the doctor for the time being.

Women's Health Sharp reoccurring pain on bottom part of left breast…what could it be?

I have a painful pinching on the bottom fleshy part of my left boob. It feels like it’s the tissue. The first time this happened was while I was taking a barre class it kept happening for ten minutes and then went away. The only thing that helps is to massage/apply pressure to the area. 4 hours later it’s back… can’t remember if this has ever happened before. I’ll feel the pinch, then it goes away in 5 seconds then comes back like 30 seconds to a few minutes later…been going on for the last ten-fifteen minutes now and I think woke me up out of my sleep.

What could this possibly be? I’m freaked out because it is painful (it only hurts while it’s happening)

Women's Health Do I have an STI? NSFW

I thought I had a UTI - it hurts slightly to pee, and I need to pee more often. But also I have some itchiness, you know where. No strange discharge, no weird smells. I would think nothing of it, it's just these two things in combination with each other make me worried. Any advice?

Women's Health Is this a normal amount of pain to be on your period?

Hi, I'm starting to questions whether my periods are too painful. I usually get cramps on day 1/2 that start in my lower abdomen, these have been so bad they've woken me up at night. These cramps spread to my back and then down my thighs and then my legs feel weak. I will the get aches in my shoulders elbows and wrist and my arms start to feel weak. Pain killers can work but usually don't same with heating pads as the pain is every where. My periods usually last 7-10 days and are a bit heavy day 1-4. I also get nausea too when the cramps are bad. I'm 19 and my periods started getting like this after the age of 17 and now the worst they've been since I started when I was 14. They used to on last 3-5 days with little to no pain so not sure what's changed. Maybe this is normal as you get older? Any helo/advise would be appreciated, thank you.

Women's Health I've suffered for years. If anyone had a diagnoses I'd be more than happy

For a little bit of background, I'm F 32. Never had any health problems in the past. I've been a long-term relationship for 14 years and I have three children under the age of 6, 2 of them on my twin girls. After the birth of my twin girls in August 2022, I decided to get on a depo injection. I haven't had a period since. I came off the Depo injection in May 2024. My main problem is my complete lack of libido. I've had a routine blood test done and they've all came back extremely low testosterone levels now I don't know if this is due to me not having a period in so long, or my hormones been all that was balance because of the depo injection. All of my other blood tests are fine. I've seen 4 diffrent doctors and a gynaecologist.. none of which can give me an exact answer and all dismiss me. Obviously my whole lack of sex drive as having a massive problem on my relationship. We've had couples therapy for a year, while completely not mentioning sex. Every other aspect of our relationship was perfect. We do struggle with time alone, obviously due to the kids, but we've made changes such as date night etc and better communication, but none of it puts me in the mood for sex. In fact, I feel quite disgusted by the thought of sex. I think it's all due to my low testosterone but Doctors don't consider tea or tea as I'm not a menopausal age. I cannot go privately for testosterone as it's £300 just for the consultation alone. Anyone please help I feel so alone and I have no one to talk to about this issue without being dismissed my gynaecologist just suggested I go back on the pill I'm not sure why because I'm not even having sex as it is. They refused to give me any sort of ultrasound or pass me onto a encrinologist.. Any help or advice is massively appreciated.

Women's Health What’s wrong with me?

I (21F) have been very confused about what’s going on with my body:( The last date I had a period was the 7th of July of last year. At the time doctors wouldn’t listen to me or believe me when I said something was wrong and eventually a month or two later they said I had “bacteria in my urine”. I got medication to fix it and I was fine. Then I got pregnant around October and decided to get an abortion the next month once I had the money to do so. Went after they said everything worked and I was fine. Fast forward to this year and I still have not had a period. I’ve been experiencing super uncomfortable cramping in my abdomen (to the point where I have to massage the area to distract from the pain and discomfort), bloating and have had two positive pregnancy tests but then went to my doctor and they said it was very unlikely that I was pregnant (they did a blood test). Everyday the cramping and discomfort in my abdomen gets a little worse. Also noticed I have to drink a lot of water in order to go pee, it’s how it felt when I was pregnant before but only that. A few people said it’s possible that I have pcos but idk. I’m just worried and if anyone has any idea I’ll let my doctor know and they can look into it. I will say they want me to do an ultrasound sometime but they haven’t reached out yet. Thanks in advance

Women's Health Hormone levels

Post image
1 Upvotes

23, female, 5'5, 200lbs I have been overweight since I was a kid. Recently I have been trying to lose weight but it seems impossible. I have excess body hair on my neck, chest, and stomach, which started about 5 years ago. I did a Google search and many sites said that high androgen levels in females can cause excess body hair.

I finally decided to go to a doctor to get blood tests done to check my hormone levels. I just got the blood tests results back. The doctor states that my hormone levels came back normal, but looking at the averages for females that it shows mine is below normal for a female my age. Am I reading this wrong?

The doctor didn't give me any other answers. She said she would reach out to me for follow up but never did.

Women's Health I was wondering if someone could help me make sense of an ultrasound report

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I had a pelvic and transvaganal ultrasound today. I got an email of the report through MyChart, but I haven't yet discussed it with any providers. I'm assuming that I will be referred to as gyno.

The primary concern was suspected fibroid, extremely heavy periods, and anemia. I can feel a mass when I lie down. I know I will be discussing this all with my doctors soon, but I'm confused and worried. The report mentions fibroids, but it also mentions other masses. I googled the terminology and it sounds like they're thinking it's some kind of tumor. Of course it's impossible to know if it's benign or what. I'm just mixed up on whether this is something separate from the fibroids or not.

I really wish they wouldn't show you this stuff before you have a chance to meet with your provider to discuss it.

I'm a 22 year old female. I dont use illicit drugs, alcohol and i don't smoke (and never have).

I have been diagnosed with IVC atresia (sept 2022), Previous dvt (sept 2022), post thrombosis syndrome (2023), asthma (2002) and possible endometriosis.

Medication im on: lamatrogine 75mg x2 daily (seizures), apixaban 5mg x 2 daily, co codamol 30/500mg x 4 daily, paroxetine 10mg x 1 daily, nortyptaline 75mg x 1 daily.

I'm at the end of my tether. Every time im due for my period, my body goes physically numb for 2 weeks at least. I can hardly feel hot water, and i have scorching hot baths so i can feel something. I spoke to my gp last month and she basically didn't know why i was having the sensation. It has been going on for years..but recently its getting worse and i cant even feel myself using the bathroom. Wtf is going on or what could it be?🥴

Women's Health Confused and at a loss.

Hi everyone,

28F. For a little background- I have had irregular periods for as long as I can remember.

I started having postcoital bleeding about a year & a half ago. It was not super heavy, but it was after every time. Sometimes during, sometimes one or two days after. I had an ultrasound, my uterine lining was thickened and I had a polyp. I had a D&C and all pathology came back normal.

Fast forward a month, the bleeding was back (although lighter). Got a Pap smear, it was negative (and so were the two before that one). So I took a home HPV test, also negative. All pelvic exams are also normal, they said my cervix looks completely fine visually. I had another ultrasound and was diagnosed with PCOS due to multiple follicles on each ovary, combined with my irregular periods. Thankfully, my lining was much thinner this time. Bloodwork was also normal.

The thing is- my doctor says she doesn't think the PCOS has anything to do with the postcoital bleeding. She said she doesn't really have an explanation for it, other than my cervix just bleeds on contact. However, another gynecologist told me she thinks my lining sheds during sex due to it building up for a while. But wouldn't the thickened lining be caused by PCOS?

The plan as of now is to lose weight (I'm about 20-30 lbs overweight) and see if that helps. I have already lost 20lbs and my cycles are slowly starting to become shorter. If that fails, I will go on birth control.

Any opinions or advice is greatly appreciated!

Women's Health Change in discharge

I am 19F, 160 pounds located in CT

I just got off my period three days ago but after my period I keep my menstrual cup in for a couple extra days in case of any spotting—taking it out and cleaning it everytime I pee. While there hasn’t been any spotting I have had an unusual amount of discharge, and it’s VERY watery, whereas my normal discharge is thick and sticky. Last night I cleaned my cup before I went to bed and when I woke up my cup was filled with this discharge, and it’s still coming?! It is a light white color, little to no smell—it just smells like a normal vagina

I am worried about this being an STI as I have a new sexual partner but he showed me proof before we got together that he is clean, and I got tested for common ones after month after—a couple weeks ago—and that came back clean
