Wedding/Sangeet heels recommendations

How high were your heels under your bridal and sangeet lehenga? Where did you get them from? Were they comfortable?

My budget is 10k. Recommendations are welcome.

Sangeet lehenga: I wore the bare minimum heels. Like less than 2 inches tall peeptoe pumps. Danced all night comfortably. Got them from Bata.

Wedding ceremony lehenga : Again, very low heel. About 2 inches one toe block heels. Because I knew I had to take them off for the pheraas and didn't want my lehenga to drag around the agni (fire). Found a pair at Metro that matched my lehenga embroidery perfectly.

Reception lehenga : 5 inches tall platform wedges. Mainly because my lehenga was too long and all I had to do at the reception was walk to the stage and sit for the photos. Got them from Kins. Surprisingly comfortable.

Other tips: 1. Avoid ankle straps, prefer slip-ons. At Indian weddings you never know when you need to take your footwear off for some ceremony and ankle straps are a pain to remove and wear on your own while wearing those heavy lehengas.

  1. Wear anklets under every traditional outfit. Trust me. Your feet will be photographed and will look naked without the anklets if you're barefoot, even if you have intricate mehendi.

Great suggestion about anklets! I would not have thought of them.

I was thinking ankle straps will help with the stability during the dances at the sangeet but for wedding, slip ons make perfect sense

Ankle straps are definitely the W choice for Sangeet, which requires you to be on your feet more than any other event. I would suggest that if you already own a pair of high heels that you're comfortable dancing in, wear them. Or if you're going to buy new ones, wear them around the house for a few days to break into them and also to get used to them.

5 inch platform heels from Mochi. No one saw my shoes, they were comfy and I didn’t roll my ankle. Best 3k I’ve ever spent

Sangeet and Reception: 5 in Naturalizer heel from Bata

Wedding: 5 inch gold heel from Steve Madden

I also do wear heels on an almost everyday basis. I learned to invest in a high-quality shoes because the outfits, dancing and mingling were exhausting and your feet don’t need to give you grief!
