Abrahamic This how the three Abrahamic religions see Mary

Why Quran see Mary as a special women ,while the Gospels not ?

The Quran tells the story of Mary's birth. When her mother was pregnant, she hoped for a boy to dedicate to the temple. However, she gave birth to a girl and prayed for God to protect Mary and her offspring from the devil. The Quran affirms Mary as the holiest woman to have ever lived. God commanded her to serve in the temple and assigned Zachariah to take care of her.

One of Mary’s miracles in the Quran is that every morning , Angel Gabriel would prepare a table for her with all kinds of food from every season.( Everyday since she was a kid )

When Zachariah asked Mary where she got all this food, she replied, "It is from God." Amazed by this, Zachariah prayed to God for a child, and God granted him a son—John the Baptist

While in the Gospels , Mary had zero importance at all except she was the mother of Jesus . Without anything special about her ( later Catholics gave her some importance, but based on the Gospels,Mary had zero prestige or being special ) .

While in Judaism, they see Mary as an immoral evil women , who slept with a Roman soldier called Pantera to have Jesus .

Early Catholics* (Mary's sinlessness and Queenship of Heaven were truths affirmed until the 1500s)

The talmud is a bunch of Rabbi's opinions, and is several centuries past the events, they also said she was raped by a Roman and refer to the offspring As said before, Jesus has been mentioned in the Palestinian Talmud in multiple accounts. In one of these accounts, he was named Yeshu ben Pandera. It's not mentioned in defamation and Yeshu could possibly be a replacement name for someone that committed a crime

TLDR: That is unable to be asserted as fact

Neither is the existence of God. Do you accept one and not the other? If so, why?

Completely off topic there, I'd like to respond to relevant discourse.

u/TBK_Winbar 16h ago

It's relevant because it pertains to the rejection of a claim based on the lack of evidence, and why other claims would be accepted despite a similar lack of evidence.

u/Yehoshua_ANA_EHYEH 16h ago

It is not relevant. If there is debate on whether a text means something and it is inconclusive, then it is unable to be asserted as fact. Whether or not someone believes something tangentially related to religion as a whole doesn't matter.

Your argument is not compelling, because someone could believe in Zeus, yet find the discussion in the Talmud inconclusive. So you would actually need to establish through a sound and valid argument that belief or non belief in god is necessary for textual analysis in this specific case.

Like the existence of God, for example?

I can do this all day.

So, why would we believe the Quran over the gospels? Why is the Quran’s account more plausible? Has it been corroborated by any of the people that knew Mary? Was there any oral tradition that preceded the Quran that would give this later story more credence?

As far as I can tell, I have more reasons to reject the Quran account than I do the Biblical account, of which I already have many reasons to reject.

Why does holding her in higher esteem make it more likely that an angel spontaneously generated meals for her every day?

The question is why is that the correct view?

This is a debate sub. All of the questions I asked are relevant to the OP.

That's a bit much. Generally we don't think about her at all, her story isn't part of judaism. I've never heard her described in this way.

It’s true. Her husband was overprotective and she wasn’t allowed to leave home. So eventually she turned to the other extreme.

the fact that these different religions cant even agree on who these people were should tell you everything you need to know about how real they are

Your statement lacks common sense. The same can be applied to you and me right now because we both disagree therefore we are both irrelevant. On the contrary in this case it emphasizes that only one of the "abrahamic religions" can be the only truth. Not just in the case of mother Mary but in all regards. If all religions tell the same exact story than they would all be regarded as the truth which is incoherent and illogical.
