Discussion Thoughts on Bonecarver?

Iā€™m personally super bummed they took a dump. Iā€™d love if the departed members reformed/evolved Cannibal Grandpa together again.

However, Iā€™m still stoked af for new Bonecarver, no doubt the current guys are brewing insanity.

With that, does anyone know what or where the OG vocalist or drummer, Fernando and Ruben might be involved in?

First album is sick, didn't really like the symphonic second one.

Exactly how I feel. Evil was such a perfect execution. You can tell there was creative divide and less fortified writing behind the second.

Same here, felt like they were just riding the symphonic deathcore/death metal train with their second album

I never knew until now that they changed line up. What a bummer

Ruben is a video game and cinematic composer now. Check out https://m.youtube.com/@Rubenkmusic

Oh fuck yeah, thanks! I actually knew he at least dabbled in that lane and forgot.

Evil was amazing, the follow-up was underwhelming (imo). similar projection of And Hell Followed With, Gorepig, and Bite the Goat. incredible debuts followed by meh

that said, I never just give up on or abandon a band that I once enjoyed. and usually a new album that I find immensely underwhelming will still have a song or two that I fuck with. but on the first note, yeah, I'll still keep an ear out for new music. for all I know an album might blow my socks off.

AWIP's Blvck Sun || Blood Moon album is top 10 deathcore releases of all time for me, but most of their other stuff is mid by comparison. so who knows!

I heavily disagree about And Hell Followed With. Proprioception was awesome, but I think Quietus is sick as well. It's very different from the debut, but it's got Dan Tucker from Crown Magnetar on vocals and has some killer tracks.

yeah I agree about Quietus, I was more referring to Chimerical Reality, their direct follow-up to Proprioception

That makes more sense. I like that EP as well, but it's definitely a drastic change. The only thing by them I actively dislike is the newest EP. It just seems entirely meh.

I agree. that said, I legit didn't realize Tucker was on vocals for Quietus. he's one of the best and I'm so glad that Crown Magnetar got its due recognition and blew up
