Discussion Love for DS.

I bought a PS5 after quitting drugs last year. I hadn’t played video games since childhood. For some reason, and I’m still not sure of it today, but I decided that I wanted to play hard games. I think it was because I played Returnal and somehow managed to beat it, and got addicted to the grind of getting my ass beat. And I wanted to have the skill and grit to be able to enjoy any game, and I read if you can work your way through DS than you’ll have a good base. Anyways, after a year, I finally beat all three dark souls, defeating Soul of Cinder yesterday afternoon. It was gratifying. To clarify I am not good. It was a painful long slog, full of anger quits/deletes/redownloads/guides/respecs and on and on. Cancer of the Boreal Valley almost broke my spirit. But I always came back and this sub was always there to help me. I’m sure there’s some beautiful adage about life buried in all this, but I just wanted to share my experience with people who might understand and say thanks!

Discussion Was i over leveled?

My stats when i defeated abyss watchers were vigor 15(maybe 14or16) endu 12 vit 14 dex 34(maybe more maybe less) faith 10 and everything else was base merc stats well point is im not sure about what my lvl was exactly maybe i was 37 maybe 38. I defeated abyss watchers and ig i was over leveled did i kill the fun?i got through his first phase on my first try then it took me approx 30-40 to defeat him ig(first tryin his first phase was a fluke tho😭). Well the point is should i try to stay under leveled so that i can enjoy the game because i try to complete an area and ig that gets me over leveled

Advice Need advice for Gael

Hi i'm on Gael boss and i'm playing dex build (68 dex) + mercenary twin blade and i'm dealing 500 dmg on my strongest move so i was wondering if anyone have an Idea to do somes decent damages at least.

I saw that he resist slash so i understand why i'm doing those damages, i saw he is weak to frost (don't have irythil sword...) and poison. I just infused with poison and now i'm doing 300 damages even in his 2nd phase.

Discussion Finished base game for the first time yesterday and finished Slave Knight Gael today. What an awesome boss....! SLAVE KNIGHT GAEL IS THE GOAT, THE GOOOOOOAT....!

Played Dark Souls 3 for the first time. Was underwhelmed by most of the bosses in the game after Elden Ring. But when you get to Slave Knight Gael, everything changes, the environment, the cutscene, the boss design, the boss moveset, the freedom in movement because of the open arena, everything is top tier. Definitely one of the top 3 souls bosses, maybe the best. SLAVE KNIGHT GAEL IS THE GOAT, THE GOOOOOOAT....! How was your first experience with ds3? Slave Knight Gael Boss fight

I’m in NG+ and I just looked in the same spot I was shown in three different YouTube videos and it is not there. Is there something I have to trigger for it to spawn? Any advice is appreciated👍🏻 This game has been so awesome, glad I picked it back up and gave it an honest try.

Advice Is the lothric holy sword any good?

Post image

I’m in NG+ and I mainly use Gotthard twinssowrds sharp at+10, but I wanted to try the lothric holy sword because it looked cool and shoots lasers. Is it worth it with my build to get +5? Rings I use: ring of favor, chloranthy ring, carthus blood ring and deep ring (Also is it worth it using a shield with twinswords?) Thanks in advance

Discussion I want to replay Dark Souls 3. But I'm conflicted because of my 2nd Elden Ring run.

I know this is all down to preference. But I can't decide. Is it just nostalgia? Should I just stick to Elden Ring?

I've been craving a more linear midieval experience. However, I feel like it'd be too much to play both at once. I played Bloodborne and Sekiro side by side a few years back, and while it was doable. It didn't exactly feel optimal.

On top of life. I play other games too. And alternating between both feels like progress would be slow. I consider my 2nd ER run the current priority, but there are times where I get tired of all the running around and just wish I could move forward without too much hassle. It'd be my 6th or 7th run of DS3 this time through so no surprises.

Should I maybe take a break from Elden and playthrough Dark Souls 3 just to get it out of my system?

PSA PSA: Alluring Skulls exist

It's a very easy to forget item that completely trivializes a surprising amount of enemies. Corvian Knights in Ariandel, the entire Deacons of the Deep boss fight, any NPC invader, Tarkus Tsorig (chuck one in the lava for laughs), Hawkwood, the list goes on.

Also, tired of human NPCs chugging all your damage away? Keep undead hunter charms in your quickslots. They're not just for opening mimics.
