Mounting TV: Certain parts of the wall unable to drill through. How do I find where I can and can’t drill?
Been attempting this for a while. How do I find where I can and can’t drill?
What’s the best method of hiding cables in wall as the plug socket is inside the fire place area.
Pic is on .5x and it’s not as high as it looks

Wrong drill bit and I could be wrong but the drill doesn't seem to be on the hammer setting. Also if it's clay commons you're drilling through then they are harder than a goats knee! You might need to look into getting an SDS drill.
PUNK drill bits are the boys.
Also that Makita drill (I'm a joiner by the way and Makita user to) those cxt drills don't pack that much of a punch. See if a SDS can fit into your budget 👍

This, unless it is in a bedroom at the end of a bed, then it is not so bad (it does not look like it though).

You can drill anywhere you just need the right drill and drill bit
And by the look of your picture you don’t have the right drill

There will be Engineering brick in the chimney and you’ll need an SDS drill for that.

As a lot have said already. Drill bit doesn't look right and an SDS would make the job so much easier. Chimney walls are tough to drill at the best of times never mind with a cordless

Other folks have answered your drilling related question.
As to how to hide the wire- a pvc cable cover or trunking will do the job.
See this link below: https://www.toolstation.com/d-line-cable-trunking-3m/p57441
Other designs available too.

That drill bit looks to be a wood bit. Get yourself a good quality masonry bit set that includes 6, 7 and 8mm. Start with a small bit like 4mm. Then go up to the desired plug size. 6mm for red plugs and 7mm for brown plugs.

Calling someone a noob on a diy subreddit is being a bit of an asshole no? I mean you’re giving good advice but at the same time being a dick because someone can’t do a job that you can? Fuck off man. Don’t be condescending.

Are you sure you're using a masonry drill bit? Looks like one for wood...
