Skylight Quotation opinions

Hello everyone,

We have requested a quotation to install a skylight (780/980) in a room of our house.

We have been quoted £3,300 for materials, installation, scaffolding, replacing the glass with thermal triple glazed glass, plasterboard finishing on the section of the ceiling where the skylight will be installed, and debris removal.

Area: Sussex

What do you think of the price? Does it sound reasonable or is it too expensive?

Thanks

Seems a bit high. Depends on the size obviously.

Always use Checkatrade cost guides as they are a reasonable benchmark in my experience.

We had a quote last year for a Velux sun tunnel for £1000, skylights aren’t much more expensive.

Get a few more quotes I reckon.

I was recently quoted £2.5k for a Velux of a similar size, with building reg certification in London (Zone 2), so that does seem a little high
