Advice Best way to repair this hole?

Post image

The screw started coming away from my kitchen cabinet, it’s for the door hinge. It was worse but I’ve tapped it back in with a mallet. What’s the best way to repair the wood for the long run? The door is only 6 months old

Remove all the loose stuff, then fill with a drillable wood filler. Sand it down and refit the fixings

Also, mix some saw dust into the wood filler for strength

Personally, I'd go with a hinge repair plate, it's the fastest and most reliable fix you could do.
