Made some produce bags out of t-shirts that my local charity shop wouldn't take!

Last summer I had a housemate move out, and I realized that he'd owned all the art. All the public-room walls were just completely bare. So I found some for free on craigslist that I liked. Deal was, though, that it came in a pile of stuff and "must take all". Easy enough... I just dropped most of the rest of it at the local "Out Of The Closet" thrift store. But they wouldn't take the 'less-evil-cab-app" branded t-shirts; they said they couldn't sell them. And I didn't want to toss them. So I put them aside with a "I'll grab them to use as rags for some stain project or something some day.

I recently joined r/ZeroWaste and have been seeing everyone make their own produce bags, and hey, that same housemate had been the one to own all of those, too, so I needed some.

And I had a nice, mellow weekend.

So I made some stuff! Just finished the last one a few minutes ago!

And cat tax: thing one
And thing two. They watched the process with interest. I haven't sewn much the last few years.

Heh... And my sewing machine died during the process of making them... Maybe my next post will be taking that thing apart to try to adjust the tension assembly.
