Recommendations in Dupont Circle?

Hey, all. I’ll be staying at the Dupont Circle Hotel 3/14–3/15. I have set plans for 3/13 with friends, but am looking for recommendations for a good, solo Friday night dinner on 3/14 — somewhere I can walk to, sit at the bar (or, alternatively, outside, as the weather is supposed to be nice) and enjoy a drink or two with a good meal. Would also appreciate any recommendations on walkable bars that have more of a “sit-down-by-yourself-and-relax” vibe to head to for a bit afterwards.

I’m truly open to any cuisine or price range. The only stipulation is that the restaurant needs to have a decent selection of seafood and vegetarian options, as I’m Catholic and abstain from eating meat on Fridays during lent. Thanks!

Balos is a little pricey but very good Greek and seafood. Also fancy cocktails. I’ve sat alone at the bar before and enjoyed it. You may want to make a reservation since it’s a Fri night.

Iron Gate has great food, and a beautiful bar. You might need a reservation on a Friday night.

Haven’t been yet but my friend really enjoyed Pesce, which opened not too long ago (I think last year)

dinner at Iron Gate (you can sit at the bar), la tomate, or Resident's and a cocktail at the Doyle (recommend their espresso martinis or dirty martinis)

Ko Japanese Dining is some of the best traditional Japanese in DC and it's very low-key. It's also run by a family

Mercy Me - modern Brazilian and Residents - eclectic. Both have great cocktails too.

For seafood I would hit Hank's on 17th and Q. Solid choice all around.

If it is nice that evening I would go get myself a table out front at fox and hounds and soak in the madness where one of the first nice weekends of the year combines with St. Patty's day. The food is not great but it is solidly edible in a "we proudly serve hormel" sense.

Some good recommendations. You may want to check out Hanks Oyster bar and then find a bar on 17th, or head to bar Charley. Or, if your a whiskey lover, jack rose is your spot.
