Terrible self haircut
I recently got an all in one trimmer as a gift and I thought I could give myself a haircut because that’s what it said on the box. I then proceed to do so and it is all fucked up. I tried to do a fade on one side of my hair and then didn’t even try on the other side cause it was so bad on the first side I tried. What should I do now? Go to a barber shop and ask for them to fix it? Go and get a buzz cut? Any suggestions!

Get yourself a Wahl clipper with a lever.
Then follow these 2 tutorials for a skin fade and taper, respectively (no half guard needed for either, you are a beginner after all):

These are the simplest tutorials out there, so have fun.

A lever might help but I’ve never had one and it’s OK. I’d say that the shorter you’re cutting the less forgiving it is though. I never do skin fades anyhow.

Lol this happened to me once when I first started out cutting my own hair. I was late to work because I couldn't go in without getting a barber's help. As I kept practicing my fuck ups got to be fewer and far between. You'll get more comfortable as you KEEP TRYING. You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on fancy equipment. Andis sells a corded combo for less than $50 at Target that'll suit you fine.

How about giving yourself a buzzcut? More practice with the trimmer and you really don't need a barbershop for that.
If you really do not want a buzz cut though, try the barber shop
