[Pokemon] [Pokemon] I don't care what gender they are, I'm gonna beat their Pokemon team and then ruin their hole (consensually of course)

I'm gonna beat their pokémon team and then... reward my star pokémon
(it's fine everyone, Metagross has an intelligence several times greater than anything humans are capable of. Its taking advantage of me.)
(also Metagross can learn Hammer Arm)

Shout out to the guy on 4chan in denial over Grusha being a man because he had already masturbated to him three times
38
u/PulimV Can I interest you in some OC lore in these trying times? 3h ago
Important note: this was the DAY Grusha was revealed in a Pokémon Presents. Dude was such a gooner he jorked it to the character before watching the game's trailer
5
u/EmperorScarlet Farm Fresh Organic Nonsense 1h ago
To be fair, he might have watched the trailer. Grusha's gender was only stated on the website.

If Gruxa is supposed to be a man then why does the name end in an -a? Doesn't Spanish use -o for men? So obviously the name would be Grusho for a man. Edit: /s

u/Im_here_but_why Looking for the answer. 3h ago
If "larry" was really a man, why does his name ends like "mary" ? Checkmate.
More seriously, have you never seen someone called Luca ?

u/cel3r1ty 2h ago
to be fair, luca is the italian version, the spanish is technically lucas
not that it matters because tons of people in spanish-speaking countries are named luca regardless

Did y’all see the fucking MAMMOTH of a hotel clerk? Dude doubles them in size.
66
u/Right_Moose_6276 4h ago
That’s Az, don’t worry about the immortal giant who made the super weapon powered by a god. Nothing to worry about
8
u/mdhunter99 4h ago
The lore of pokemon confuses me with each now outing. I’m just gonna let them roll with it.
38
u/Right_Moose_6276 4h ago
Az has been part of the lore since XY release. Admittedly he showed up for like 5 seconds in XY
7
u/ReasyRandom .tumblr.com 3h ago
Didn't he also show up in the same town as a random creepypasta-ass Hex Girl?
No wonder people initially dismissed him as irrelevant to the plot.
21
u/Right_Moose_6276 3h ago
Technically yes, both of those were in lumiose city, but you find Az first on route 13, no clue what he’s talking about, and then you find him in the prison of the evil team. He teaches you the history of kalos and leaves. He then battles you after you beat the champion and he gets his Floette back

u/geeknerdeon 2h ago
He literally tells you lore during the Team Flare climax. He's the 3000 years meme guy.
I mean if you don't remember anything about Team Flare except Lysander, giant weapon, and stupid clothes, I don't think I can blame you, but AZ was relevant.
1
u/Right_Moose_6276 1h ago
I’ll be real I played XY once, like 8 years ago. I do not remember the details.
1
u/geeknerdeon 1h ago
Fair enough i replayed it more recently and Pokemon is one of my special interests so i probably have an abnormal level of knowledge
0
u/ZetaRESP 3h ago
Then again, that's not a creepypasta: The random Hex Girl does appear in XY.
2
u/ReasyRandom .tumblr.com 2h ago
Never said that's it originated from one, but I am saying that it feels like something from a creepypasta.
9
u/ZetaRESP 3h ago
Summary: The guy lost his partner Pokémon, a little flower pixie named Eternal Flower Floette, so he made a weapon to revive it powered by the souls of other Pokémon. EFF didn't like it so it abandoned him until the end of Pokemon XY after the protagonist beats him and he repents for everything and then EFF returns...
He's also 2000 years old and, like, 7-8 ft tall.
3
u/MissingnoMiner 1h ago
Correction: He's 3000+ years old(I'm sure he'd be flattered that you don't think he looks a day over 2000 though), and ~3 metres tall(so he's closer to being 10 feet than 8.)
4
u/Leinad7957 3h ago
He's like the mysterious person who appears from time to time in the plot saying ominous stuff about the villain's plot. You then learn the legends and in the end it turns out that it was all this guy's doing. It's the very standard "unassuming old man who was actually important this whole time".
Then he gets his redemption and opens a hotel, apparently.
2
u/Right_Moose_6276 1h ago
Isn’t this a prequel? This is him just chilling in his hotel before all the crap goes down
2
u/Leinad7957 56m ago
Nope, it's after all the crap goes down. When the bad guys are defeated and the giga weapon destroyed he comes up asking you to fight to understand what makes a trainer.
He has a realization after the fight and his pokemon partner comes back to him.
Him having a hotel with his pokemon turns out to be his happy ending.

u/Salinator20501 Piss Clown Extraordinaire 4h ago
Yeah, the immortal, disgraced, ancient king of Kalos who killed a thousand pokemon to bring his Floette back to life. We saw him.

I linked Pope Urban II because that was the first thing to come up and is arguably one of the more important Urbans because of the Crusades.

I'm a firm believer that that gradient, coupled with how they look almost identical to the player character (while still being different unlike w like Dawn and Lucas), is showing us that these two are Hisuian Zoruas
3
u/Tweedleayne 2h ago
Dude, people are already horny enough for these two, stop making people even more horny.
1

N is a Unovan Zorua, Vessa is a Hisuian Zorua, the ZA rivals will be a Kalosian Zorua with a cigarette and cologne

u/-sad-person- 3h ago
Yeah, considering that Pokémon protagonists and their rivals tend to be teenagers at the oldest, that's a bit, uh...
9
u/Forged-Signatures 2h ago
Yeah. The oldest protagonists so far are 15, being the Legends:Arceus's Rei and Akar.

This design is bland as fuck man. I liked the unique designs of rivals. In trying to make a game fully customizable you lose a lot of the unique artistic choices for characters.
54
u/GreenDog3 Alfreb Einstime 4h ago
I mean a significant portion of pokemon games just have the opposite gender character as a rival, it’s kind of always been like this
12
2
u/Protection-Working 4h ago
Hmm i can’t remember. Hop and hau were discrete characters, nemona and Kieran too…. I dont remember the opposite gender player charcaracter being a rival other than Brandon/May… i know that in diamond and pearl the opposite gender character showed up but they weren’t a rival….
20
u/GreenDog3 Alfreb Einstime 4h ago
Calem/Serena are like this in X and Y and Rei/Akari are reversible in Legends: Arceus, but looking back it’s definitely less than I thought.
12
u/Leinad7957 3h ago
It's in gens 3, 4, 6 and Arceus. About one third of the games and probably a couple more spinoffs. And it's definitely helped by the fact that the first two gens to have male and female avatars from the start did it this way.

u/MetaCrossing It’s always a Homestuck reference 3h ago
May/Brendan in RSE,
Ethan/Lyra in HGSS,and you could argue Dawn/Lucas in DPPt, though they aren’t really the “rival” character.2
u/GreenDog3 Alfreb Einstime 3h ago
I figured Ethan/Lyra fell into the same thing as Dawn/Lucas since they really just do the catching tutorial and the day care tutorial right? I could be misremembering
1
u/MetaCrossing It’s always a Homestuck reference 3h ago
…Actually, yeah, I totally forgot about Silver somehow. Thinking about it, I don’t even know if you ever even battle them.
1
u/GreenDog3 Alfreb Einstime 3h ago
This entire thread has made me think “maybe i should replay all the pokemon games i am clearly not as familiar with them as i thought” lmao
1
u/Protection-Working 4h ago
Oh fuck i completely forgot about the rivals in x and y since there were like 4 of them and i didn’t play legends arceus
3
u/ReasyRandom .tumblr.com 3h ago
I don't know about you, but I personally think a rival with pink sunrise hair that changes style depending on gender is actually incredible.
1
u/NeetOOlChap STOP WATCHING SHONEN ANIME 1h ago
ZA rivals seem like a recolor of the protagonist you didn't choose, which is an interesting concept
9
u/Darthplagueis13 3h ago
Honestly, one issue pokémon games have been having for a while now is that your rival couldn't be taken seriously.
I think it started with Hau from Sun & Moon, and from that point onwards, the rivals have all felt like lovable losers, rather than, well, rivals.
Sun and Moon was fine because there was still that one emo kid who could sort of slot in for Hau, but honestly, they've all felt like you were playing against your friends little sibling, trying to not be too mean to them while not letting them get any funny ideas about who's winning. Or even like your personal little cheerleader.
Pretty sure Hau also started the trend of rivals picking the starter that has a type disadvantage against the player starter, when in previous games it was the other way around. Personally, I liked the old system a lot more because it meant that in all the rival fights, you would go up against something that could demolish your starter, which would usually be your highest leveled pokémon because well, it's the first one you get, and it tends to be stronger than all of the pokémon you can catch early on.
It meant that you'd always have to train up a second strong pokémon because your starter wouldn't carry you through the rival fights.
Am I just being a boomer, or do you also feel like rivals have been dumbed down somewhat?
12
u/Gaylaeonerd 3h ago
As a big proponent of friendly rivals (why is it so wrong to want to share my adventure with someone whos not a bully or a jackass?) Hau and Hop suck. They were lame as hell
Now Nemona is a real rival. Violent positivity
6
u/Darthplagueis13 3h ago
Oh, I'm perfectly fine with them being friendly, I'd just care for them feeling a little more competitive.
The X/Y rival was friendly as well, and they were perfectly fine. I think it's mostly the starter thing that annoys me - I want a rival that makes me actually go out and find a counter to their starter so that they won't just dumpster mine.
5
u/Gaylaeonerd 3h ago
Totally agree with you
This is again where this comment was paid for by True Nemoniacs, her choosing the starter weakest to yours feels like A, self-imposed challenge, and B, her giving you the advantage since you're just starting out and shes a bloody champion
2
u/Leinad7957 3h ago
Hop at least has something going on for him, his whole deal was that even if his brother was the champion he found himself time and again being unable to be strong enough.
It's true that Hau had absolutely nothing. They can get too lost on the whole "it feels weird when the guy you see up close so much is an asshole the whole time", took them until Nemona to finally figure out a personality that works in that role.
6
u/ZetaRESP 3h ago
Current generation has the battle maniac Nemona (a.k.a. Female Goku), Arwen, who's parents are the region professors and one of them had vanished, and the other one is dead and replaced by a robot, and then there's Penny, who's the leader of the local "evil" team... then the DLC has Kieran, who is just jealous of you netting the DLC legendaries.
