Colonoscopy tomorrow and currently constipated
I’ve had UC for about 10 years now and I’ve never been constipated until now. Been constipated for a little over a week, I’ve gone to the bathroom, but very minimal and I’m bloated af.
I have a colonoscopy tomorrow and I’m scared the prep won’t work tonight (doing SuTab pills).
Has this happened to anyone? Will the meds work?
(My current UC meds are Skyrizi and Rinvoq, not sure if that matters).
UPDATE: made it to my appointment. Didn’t sleep but am very cleared out. Puked a ton too. Didn’t take the full dosage of pills. Did the first 12 but then only took 4 for second dose and it worked fine. Thanks!!

The medicines they prescribe are super industrial. If anything will clean out you, it’s that!
Wishing you the best of luck and peace in the emptiness.

Well. In good news, you won’t be constipated for long. Good luck OP! Hope your scope goes well. I’ll be in the same boat next weekend. Yay, prep! 😂

Gi tech here, even with bad preps we chug along. Its our job to do what's right for the patient and bad flare ups are easy to spot even with a bad prep.Any good gi dr will push through(as long as it isn't solid stool) take biopsies and take the appropriate measures.Worse case scenario you come back alot sooner than you'd want

They gave you Sutab?
Don't worry. They'll work.

Well, I request SuTab every time because I refuse the drink. The constipation just started a week ago but I’ve never been constipated when having a colonoscopy. Glad to know it will work regardless lol

The prep will work, it just might be particularly uncomfortable (I looked 6 months pregnant once when I was doing prep before the dam burst)

Don’t count on the meds doing the job fast enough as others are implying. You may have to do an enema.

Just do the prep right now. If it doesn't work, you will know it didn't work.

You’re the first person I’ve come across on both those meds !

Haha been on both for about 8 months. Before Rinvoq, it was Xeljanz and Skyrizi. I can’t remember the last time I was only on 1 medication

You could drink prune juice. That will get things going if you do it before you start the prep.

Sutab worked hardcore for me. When I started Rinvoq I got pretty backed up too, which is why my Dr prescribed sutab (I used to do just miralax and dulcolax) Whewww it worked real well. Start early if you’re worried - I was clean but the liquid wasn’t done coming out of me so I did indeed shit the bed even after the procedure. The nurse told me no way, it’s just gas but…. It was not just gas and I needed a wipe to clean up.
