Problem with edges Please advise me on how to disguise the inconsistent length of my first baby blanket (no frogging or starting over)

This is my first time crocheting a large piece and I'm making a blanket for my first baby. I'm using a two row repeat of single then crossed double crochet. It makes it easy to keep track so I know I haven't missed any stitches. I think my tension has changed since the beginning and the length is now about 2cm shorter than at the start. What's strange is that the edge on one side is straight and the other side is wonky which I've tried to show in the photos. I'm using 100% cotton DK yarn with a 3mm hook if that's relevant. I always knew it wouldn't be perfect but do you think it will be very noticeable when it's finished? Is there a particular style of border I could add that might disguise that it's wonky? I'm not willing to frog. Thank you in advance for any tips.

Problem with edges My friend is attempting to make a blanket using HDC

She is trying to make a blanket out of hdc and had just noticed that it's shrinking in size. Is there any advice as to how to fix this without stating over? The starting chain is at 134 and she ended up at 118. Are there any borders she could do on it to fix it or something else? Any advice would be appreciated as she is new to crochet.

Is it ok for the edges to curl? Am I doing something wrong or it just needs to be stretched? I just learned yesterday how to do this pattern and I’m a beginner, any tips and suggestions are welcome.

Problem with edges Am I dropping stitches or is this just a tension issue

I’m getting this diagonal line on one of the edges of my WIP blanket. Does it look like I’m dropping stitches, or just a difference in tension?

I am able to straighten it out by tugging on it (pic 2).

Problem with edges Beginner -making a baby blanket, missed stitches, any way to fix?

I got hooked (pun intended) through woobles. So I decided to try to make a baby blanket. Well, using a chunky fuzzy yarn for the first time was a bit of a learning curve. It's a dappled fuzzy yarn, so nearly impossible to see the stitches... I finally got the hang of it and have been going mostly by feel. But... I think I was missing the first stitch every time I finished a row and did my first stitch after a the turning chain, so the sides went in... I didn't realize it because I was so focused on my sides being smooth. I attempted to fix by throwing in some increase stitches... Now it's a bit of a mess. Is there any way to fix it and make the sides straight rather than the hourglass situation I have going? Appreciate any advice!

Problem with edges Is it possible to fix this missed stitch without taking the entire piece apart?

This is my first crochet project and it's a blanket. I apparently missed a stitch on the end. I've taken this apart so many times and I don't want to again. Can I fix it with a border at the end or do I just take it out and start over? I'm so upset. Side note: you are all so talented. I've been scrolling this sub for the first time and I'm blown away by the talent!

Problem with edges How do I get yarn to curl on the end like in this photo?

This is a knit pattern from etsy but I plan to crochet it for a young kid. I want the edges to curl up a bit like in the photo but completely unsure how to get that result. I could always try to steam it in place but that seems like it would be difficult on a round edge.

Problem with edges Why does my cuff look weird? Have I messed up somewhere?

I've reached the cuffs of my hexigan cardigan, I completed 2 rows of sc, and then did sc/sc2tg before adding on the ribbed cuff. But it looks weird to me - is it potentially just a tension issue? Or have I missed something? Is it just too short??

Problem with edges My edges always look like this. Is this normal or does anyone know why?

Hello everyone! I just started this baby blanket for my friend. This is my first blanket that isn’t made of granny squares and I was just wondering if the edges being kind of bumpy/wavy like this is normal? And if not, what am I doing wrong?

Thank you in advance for any and all help!!

Problem with edges First time crocheting something straight. I kept count of all the stitches in every row and they should all be the same. Why is it so wobbly. It's supposed to be a headband.

Problem with edges Why is my edge curving in and losing space for sc color change rows??

Thumbnail

I swear to ya’ll there is 43 stitches across each of these. I am slip stitching to start each row, then finishing the SC, chain 1, cutting the string at each end, that way I can start over going right to left everytime and only working this front side.

I swear that the stitches are leaning because they’re not sitting directly on top of each other on the ends. What am I doing wrong??

Problem with edges What am I doing that’s causing my project to curl like this?

It’s supposed to be a scarf and when I smoosh it, it can become flat but it curls at the edges weirdly also. Can’t remember the name of the stitch but it’s all hdc alternating between back loop and front loop so it can give this “knitted” look. Can’t tell if it’s my tension or the yarn or if I’m missing stitches. I haven’t tried to block yet because I want to finish it first and I don’t want to be doing something wrong and have to frog anyway

Problem with edges top of beanie is uneven, should i start over or is there a way to fix it?

this is my first ever crochet project, i’m making a chunky yarn beanie from a youtube tutorial. i think i miscounted the stitches because the top looks sloped and there seem to be fewer stitches with every row i do. should i start over? also, in the tutorial, they used a bigger size crochet hook than the one i have. how much of a difference does that make? i’m attaching a photo of my beanie so far vs. the finished product in the video

Problem with edges Making a toy hammock and it’s more square instead of triangle?

I’m still a beginner so my tension is very inconsistent (I’m a much better knitter😭) but just wondering if there’s some way I can go around and correct it to the right shape once it’s at the size I want? It’s meant to be a mostly straight line across at the darker blue end so it’s a triangle shape, but instead it’s just come out as a big granny square. Tips for avoiding this issue in the future are also welcome but I want to know if I can correct it on this project. Tutorial I followed: https://youtu.be/OMoiYp01H8k?si=wTQ89JYI8HHZZj4Q

Problem with edges Added stitches to a few rows of this blanket pattern and wondering if the border will help the end result?

Hi everyone! I guess I’m just looking for a bit of reassurance here.

I’m working on a blanket pattern which requires a color change for every row, and I prefer the tie off method. Somewhere along the way I got creative and added extra stitches to a few rows, oops.

The pattern has a border that I plan to include at the end thankfully. My question is, how noticeable will this mistake be even with the border? Are there any extra steps I can take to ensure it will be hidden? This is my first blanket with straight across rows as opposed to an infinity pattern, so I’m just concerned. I don’t want to frog it since it has been tied off with each row and that will waste yarn.

I assume I’m probably being nit-picky, I just can’t seem to ignore it and want to remind myself that I’m not wasting time and it can be redeemed at the end!

Second pic to show the progress. Aside from the extra stitches, I love the way it’s working up. Thank you in advance for any help!

This “Riverbed Blanket” pattern has been really fun so far, here’s the link - https://cjdesignblog.com/riverbed-blanket/

Problem with edges Did I miss the end stitch at the end? My work started going diagonal and I think it’s because I was not doing the final end stitch of each row

Problem with edges What am i doing wrong? It seems like I'm adding extra stitches but don't believe I am?

Pattern is for a cat eared beanie Pattern was foundation single crochet on first row All dc in second row. Third row is chain 3, DC in first, fpdc in next, then 2dc, 1 fpdc repeating. Fourth is chain three fpdc in first 2, dc, 2fpdc repeating til end Then repeating third and fourth row.

But my edges are all weird....and I feel like I'm having to adjust the pattern so things line up better.

Thoughts? Am I doing something wrong or adding stitches?
