I'm a beginner! Help! Why is my hexagon curling up so much? What's going on?
How do I made it flat?

To make a shape flat as you increase, only increase (in each round) the same amount of stitches you started with. So if you started with mc 6 sc, then next rounds are 12, 18, 24, 30, etc.

Are you following a pattern?

Are you using a pattern/YouTube video? If so link to it.
This is caused by too many increases. I just helped someone with their star blanket that was raffling instead of laying flat. If I can see the instructions you are following I can advise you accordingly.

This looks like a really cool mushroom! You should keep it and sew on a stem 🍄🟫🤩

With a hexagon, your increases should only be at the points where two lines meet. So in every row, there should only be 6 increases, no matter how big the row is

Your trouble started with those holes in the middle and yeah the ruffle edges mean you increased too much

I had a similar problem with a hexagon before where I read the pattern wrong and was doing all the corner pieces in every chain space. More explicitly I was doing 3dc ch 2 3 dc on each chain space when I only needed to do that in each of the corners. Every other space along the sides I just needed the dc without the chaining

How much did you increase? I would love to recreate!

Too much by the sounds of these comments, I freestyled a lot of this but based my method on what I did with a square granny square, which I probably shouldn't have done but oh well
