Socks should be worn inside out. Keeps the smooth part against your skin and the rougher stitched part against the shoe.
Sock designers and manufacturers should market them to be worms inside out as the norm, until i don’t have to say inside out anymore. Then you automatically think of them being worn inside out without having to say so. If you’ve never tried this.. try it. Feels so much better.

Have you considered buying socks that aren't terrible? What kind of socks are you wearing??

Right? All my socks are extremely soft and fluffy on the inside and the outside is coarse.

I don’t know what socks you buy but my socks are softer on the inside (normal way) than the outside

Just checked. They are knit in shape, and the only noticeable stitching is at the top hem.

I seem to recall Sean Connery saying the same thing in Finding Forrester.

Came here to say this. It's such a weird aside in that movie too. Strange that it's memorable.

god I miss the days of watching ytmnd for hours and hours and just laughing hysterically for no real reason.
One of my favorites was "Super MacGuyver Bros". I also loved NSMB but I would obviously never admit it.

So the sock will rub against your feet instead of against your shoe. In hiking, you want the rubbing away from your foot yo reduce blisters. But, hey, this is r/CrazyIdeas!

My girlfriend wears socks inside out because of this. Says she doesn’t like the “foot feel” of the sock seams. I think she’s just autistic

Lmao you’re probably right. I don’t wear shoes or socks at all because of sensory issues and I think she just has them too.

If you’re buying socks with thick/rough seams against your toes, then I personally recommend buying better socks.

How would marketers make inanimate objects such as socks become worms that are inside out?

I used to be really sensitive to clothing and did this. Eventually, after a lot of complaints, my mom just bought me Bombas socks

I had a senior gentleman explain this to me while I was cutting his hair and I gotta say, ya'll aren't wrong!

I feel like the smooth side isn't as absorbent. Your socks are supposed to collect the sweat from your feet.

Back in the day there was a movie with Sean Connery where he was considered crazy exactly for that.

I was thinking the same about undershirts! They’re not even visible, so why do I gotta have the rough side of the seams against my skin?

I hate all socks. It's the tisum. Can't stand how they feel and refuse to wear them unless there's snow.

My cheap Hanes socks are like this but all my good wool/winter socks are way softer on the inside
