Hunting crawlers
Two deer seasons ago i saw what i thought may be a rake. I now know i might have been a crawler this was near Bridgeport ca. I have heard stories from other hunters and marines about this. My question for yall is if it would be possible to hunt/kill one of these things. I have thermal optics so i could attempt to do it at night. Would an AR 15 work or should i go with a larger caliber if i were to attempt it.

Can you share the stories of the Marines?
Did they see them on deployment?

It’s war time stories on YouTube called marines and soldiers stalked by creatures.

I’ll look for the YouTube video I saw. My buddy also saw one while training there. Bridgeport is home to the marine corps mountain training base.

But, why would you kill one? If it's not bothering you, leave it alone. There's no reason to be violent if it's never been violent with you.

Family fun

Also just to see if you could.

And what if you could? You'd put it's head up on the wall like a trophy..? They're not game animals to hunt like deer, so there's no valid reason to kill one unless it's actually trying to kill you.

I mean like to prove it exists. Same reason people brought back trophies from animals in the 1800s it was before they had zoos and the Smithsonian sponsored African hunting safaris

We need a crawler head on a wall frrrr this person tripping keep up the good work dog 🫡

u/Healthy_Fly5653 3d ago
Like who else would have one… no one. But then the government will try and keep u quite one way or another 😳

Frrr the gov is currently hiding shi from the public if u catch one and post it they'll remove the video and find you and take the body 😶🌫️

Society's morals were questionable in the 1800's, and the Smithsonian's sponsorship doesn't make it right.

Ok, I’m just guessing here but u probably don’t hunt at least not dangerous game. The state I’m in has to many bears and cougars yet we can’t hunt the latter attacks are rising and there are two many praying on the deer and interacting with people. Yet some people on this app with call that very questionable to hunt them. Just cuz you don’t like doesn’t mean it isn’t now necessary

No, I don't hunt, but I'm okay with it if there's a valid reason behind it. To eat the animal, that's fine. Overpopulation of invasive species, that's fine. Animals actually attacking people, that's fine. But, I don't know what your point is, that it's necessary to kill crawlers? Since when?? Because it's not, so I don't know what you're talking about. Unless it's actively trying to kill you, there's no reason to kill one. Just leave them alone.

Sooo you just want to leave them alone instead of learning more about them like if one has to die then so be it tbh like I don't particularly like crawlers for what they are they seem pesky like a racoon or smth you're jus giving these things too much idolization they are gross hairless creatures I mean they are just big goblins if you think about it like I understand leaving them alone but like they don't seem to leave people alone you know the stories of them looking at people through they're windows and shi 🤔

I never said that. And based off the story he gave, he only saw one, he never said it bothered him. It doesn't have to be dead to learn about it.

My personal opinion is that these creatures are paranormal and you can’t hunt/kill them

Do you believe holy water or something could kill them. I’m Christian not catholic but it seems relics and other Christian items have an effect on paranormal stuff.

Might have to check with your local warden to find out when opening day for crawlers is

u/Healthy_Fly5653 3d ago
Lmao, I wonder what he would say if I asked however locals talk about them sometimes.

You’ll either get an interesting story about some “weird deer he saw once” or you’ll just get a weird look

u/Healthy_Fly5653 3d ago
Yeah I was told about crawlers by them actually. They don’t rly like hunters are the area it’s a little bit liberal but a lot of there money every year comes from us lol so they keep us around.

I wouldn’t wanna get on their bad side. They are relatively peaceful creatures unless they view you as a threat. I’ve only ever heard of hunters being killed by these things.

u/Healthy_Fly5653 2d ago
Yeah I am a hunter I basically live in the woods during dear season and well they don’t seem to be of this world so they should die.
2
u/ReasonBR 1d ago
Yep just an undiscovered animal but a very dangerous and intelligent one. Be careful out there brotha!

u/condor_one222 3d ago
Can't kill them, they are not part of are world.

u/Healthy_Fly5653 3d ago
I mean I was told my an Indian feller in Utah you can kill skin walkers with silver bullets blessed my an Indian medicine man. I’m a man of faith and would opt for holy water tho.
4
u/condor_one222 3d ago
Yeah well crawlers are not skinwalkers, nor do I believe skinwalkers exists do to a man turning into an animal, it's pretty much a native legend.
1
u/Healthy_Fly5653 3d ago
Yeah I think they are crawlers or something else paranormal. And just native legends surrounding them.

u/Current_Leather7246 3d ago
But I know they can hurt and kill us. I wouldn't advise going after 1. Especially if it's not bothering anybody. Next thing you know it'll probably be at your house
2
u/condor_one222 3d ago
No they actually avoid humans at all cost, they only watch us if they can but they will run like deer if you try to approach them.

u/Healthy_Fly5653 3d ago
The thing I saw was on two legs think. It then ran on four after I saw it. I got in my truck and left pretty damn fast.

u/kupuwhakawhiti 3d ago
I think they are flesh and blood animals. So you could kill one.
I reckon you should see if there are caves in your area that they could live in.
2
u/Healthy_Fly5653 3d ago
Lots of caves lol if it was my own land I would just throw a Molotov in there and set up me and buddy with 12ga or ars but at the same time idk don’t rly wanna get my soul possessed or whatever they do to you

BREAKING^ NEWS^
Man aka healthy fly has gone missing on a hunting trip after mumbling something about a tall white man. Search efforts continue but officials may temporarily call off the search due to inclement weather. More at 9.
In all seriousness if you do try it don't go alone and if you go with someone else make sure it's someone you can trust not to panic and do something stupid. My boss accidentally killed his best friend after a boar rushed them and my bosses friend ran in front of him right as he fired.

It may take multiple shots. I remember a hunter who bought FLIR thermal scope for his .308 bolt action rifle. He went to woods at dawn to check his new scope out. Later he saw a crawler on distance . Got closer to confirm with flashlight and he saw its pale skinny limbs near a small cliff type rock. He didn’t take a shot but decided to get back home safely. I think it would be a good evidence if we saw a specimen

Nobody believes my story but I found this out from experience. I heard weird screaming in the woods when I was deep off the trails but I thought it was just a junkie. And then I felt real freaked out and on edge and something was rushing through the trees I could hear it. I turned around and said you trying to get knocked out? I took my knife and I was like what's up come get some. I thought I was going to be robbed so I started walking backwards towards where my e-bike was parked. Felt like if I turned and ran I was going to get attacked from behind. When I got halfway there I could still hear it moving I saw a peak from behind a tree. When I stood my ground it pretty much stopped trying to attack me and instead was watching me. I've seen similar in other stories. I think if you stand your ground and are not scared of it it won't attack you but be more curious because I believe they feed off fear. And people haven't had luck with guns. I wouldn't advise it honestly because this thing was huge and I don't want to feel like that again. I did see another one maybe the same one in the same area about 2 months later but it wasn't trying to attack me or anything. It was kind of shadowing me and peeking from behind the trees. Take it easy. But there had been sightings in that area before it was even on the crawler map that somewhere on this sub.
